Lamela starts IMO.
Agree, absolutely no reason to drop him. Personally i reckon, and would be happy with, the same team that started against Juve. The only question is Toby, do we play him in order to get his match fitness up despite his poor last showing or do we stick with Sanchez. Ether way round makes sense.

We have to pick our best team. There may be some tired players so i have given them a 2nd option.

So with that in mind:

Lloris

Davies/Rose, Jan, Sanchez, Toby/Dier, Aurier/Trippier

Dembele, Dier/Wanyama

Eriken, Dele, Son/Lamela

Kane.
Probably going to be tricky starting 12 players. But, it would help break down teams that are going to sit deep.

Palace not looking too healthy:

Some quotes now from Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, who is now missing a dozen players from his squad.

"No returns, but a few more out," says Hodgson. We have 12 players out now, six or seven of them first-team regulars. (Jeffrey) Schlupp, (Martin) Kelly and maybe (Joel) Ward could be back in the next week or two.

"Wilf (Zaha) is progressing well, but is still weeks away. It looks as he's much further forward in his recovery than he medically should be at this point. Great credit to the medical staff and Wilf himself.

"We've trained as normal and took the chance to give the players a day off with no game over the weekend. We've been on the pitch all week."

IMO, Toby has to start (unless he really is injured that bad). We need to have him as sharp and match fit as we can before Juve at Wembley. The only way to achieve that is by playing him in more competitive games.

Might not be the game for it, but I'd like us to use this at some point:

_______________Lloris______________
Aurier ___Sanchez__Vertonghen__Davies
______________Dier________________
________Eriksen___Lamela___________
_____Alli___________________Son____
_____________Kane_________________

Like the symmetry with Verts, Davies and Lamela all being lefties.

Their team almost picks itself they only have about 12-14 fit senior players.
Hennessy
Fosu Tomkins Delaney? Van
Cabaye milvo mcarthur
Townsend Bentke sorloth

Sorloth looked quite decent. But Kane should have fun against that defence.

I think Poch will play Toby on Wednesday against Rochdale so I don’t think he will start. He didn’t look fit enough or sharp enough to play a premiership game to me? I suspect we are “managing” his injury and recovery and I don’t expect him to play to many minutes in the PL or CL for a while. In fact I would go as far as saying he is our third CB now!

i think he injury is quite bad a needs to be managed, I don’t think it’s about getting him fit, I think at this point it’s about Making sure he doesn’t re-injure his Hammy.

I'll be shocked if Toby plays against Juve.

Just looking ahead, and working backwards:

Trippier has to play against Juve on March 7, which means Aurier would play against Huddersfield, on March 3, and Trippier would play against Rochdale on February 28, and Aurier would be in line to play on Sunday against Palace.

@walworthyid - you have a problem with the post? It simply acknowledges that Aurier is banned against Juve - so working backwards, and knowing that Poch is likely to rotate FBs over the next 2 weeks, that Aurier is in line to start on Sunday.

Seems relevant to a "Team v. Palace" thread...

Could we start Moura and Lamela in the same side?
Or would that not give us enough attack/defensive balance.
Unlikely to happen but would quite like to see One either side of Eriksen.

From the way Poch is talking about his fitness it sounds like Moura probably won't start.

Son gets the nod because he has scored the winner twice against palace in past games between us.
