From a 2015 article about Jose defending Cesc from Shearer diving claim:

But Shearer was yellow-carded for simulation, after he dived to try to win a free-kick, in his last England appearance, at Euro 2000 in the 3-2 defeat by Romania.

When it was pointed out to Mourinho that Shearer had been booked he said: "And for elbows, no?"

That was a reference to other incidents involving Shearer, including another one in 2000 when he was accused of deliberately breaking Malta defender Darren Debono's nose with an elbow.

Shearer's a prick and a shit pundit to boot.

I am not sure why any other players who do it every week never get this much attention.

I agree with Poch on it and we have to accept that it is part of the game now.

Football has a dark side to it and you need to master these dark arts to be a top side.

We have been crap at it for years but Poch has installed it in us.
I don't mean diving alone, I mean like we saw at the Bridge in our 2-2 bloodbath.

R.E Moses in the semi-finals, I had forgotten that even happened against us.
Imagine if he had done that versus the Scousers .......

If it were anyone other than Alli, that foul by Van Aanholt is given as a penalty all day long. Van Aanholt's reputation as a poor defender is just as extensive as Alli, but unfortunately, when a ref sees the foul on Alli, it's going to probably need to be a public maiming to give a penalty now.

The Hennessey incident proves that it isn't diving that is his issue, there is often [not always he does do dives too] contact, he's just very bad at making the most of it. All he has to do is run into the 6ft lump at his feet there and we get a pen. Jamie Vardy would have made that look like some sort of triple axle [nod to I,Tonya].

It’s embarrassing he is better off trying to score . Sick of it to be honest , he’s a big enough lad , play like a man

What on earth could it be? A non-white, young footballer with swagger, flair, arrogance and that most unbritish desire to win at almost any cost.

He didn't look to go down once yesterday even during his mazy run through the box. I wonder if Dele knowing VAR was in use made a difference?

I’ve got no problem with the diving I just want him to practice it more so he can actually do it well. It’s only cheating if you get caught.

I used to think this with football. Until I moved to Australia and saw the Aussie rules football they play and I thought why the hell are our footballers going down when someone breathes on them

Please dele stop

You can’t compare football to Ozzie rules, though. That’s just silly.

I don't mind us having more edge to our game...we were far too nice in the 90s and 00s compared to other teams.

What does crack me up about Dele is that he actively looks for a foul when the far better option is usually to actually keep the attack moving by passing to someone making a good run. It slows our play up and stifles good attacking football.

Well definitely yesterday's VAR. No-one had a clue what interpretation was going to come back into the ref's ear. o_O

Ones a sport where players are honest the other they aren’t. I dislike ausssie rules but there men .

I don’t watch Ozzie rules but they’re totally different games. Ozzie rules has a lot more contact so naturally you’ll be able to get away with less if you’re trying to milk a collision as it’s part and parcel of the game. I know football is supposed to be a contact sport but the way it’s reffed today it’s getting more and more a non contact sport.

You’d know better than me but surely players still cheat in Ozzie rules? There’s not a sport in the world (maybe a few exceptions) where players don’t manipulate the rules to some extent.

Ducking. Player going to get tackled, and either ducks or starts dropping down to cause a head high tackle. Can't stand it.
Just the same as I can't stand footballers going over before contact is made or players screaming and rolling around on the pitch only to get straight up. Book the lot of em.

Joel Selwood is a ****.

Haha but why is this discussion itt? I grew up, and still live, in Country Victoria, the Aussie rules heartland, and yet I couldnt give a fuck if Dele dives if it means we win.

I'm a Spurs fan, not a fan of ethical, holier than thou football.

If Alli was the only cheat in the league I might have a problem with it but pretty much every player in every team in every league does so we might as well do it to the best of our ability.

I’m the same as you. I give zero fucks as long as we win.
