On behalf of the club wanting to pole the comments of SC. Please can we have a sensible discussion.

It is widely known Danny Rose’s situation ‘will’ be up for review at the end of the season. This also applies to Toby. I want to add my wish for Sissoko to be in that situation, along VJ, and possibly Coco (I want us to keep him). Would you agree with the following:

1. Sell Toby circa (c) 50
2. Sell Danny c. 40m
3. Sell VJ c. 12-15m
4. Sell Sissoko-whatever we can get c. 15m
5. Keep Coco, and only sell if situation contract-wise does not activate.

That works out at an average of 110m (aside from wages) comes in.

A. We bring in a quality German 22 year old, height 6ft 4, with presence, technique, and quality, for 35m
B. Sess for 50m
C. Dembele apprentice c. 35m
D.Malcom c. 50-60
E. A versatile Kane accomplice 20-40m

That is a total spend of 220m. Deduct 110 (sales), leaves a deficit of 110. Thus is covered with the existing budget set aside for the splash.

What would you do. Would you be for? Or against?

*The club seeking a pole is a joke!*

I'd be against Sess for 50 mill. Don't really see the fuss about him. Reminds me a bit of a young Dempsey with more pace. Scores goals but don't really do mischief else. Not a fan. Sancho yeh get that, would much rather us spend big on him.

I'm ok with Rose leaving, best thing really. I'm ok with Toby leaving, Davidson has already been here a year. I'd much rather he stayed and was happy but if he's not, later bro, it's been nice. Jams our most important defender by a mile anyway. I'm ok with sissoko and janssen going too, not bothered if Llorente stays either at this point.

I'm sorry mate, but that's a massive dumbing down of something that can actually be pretty useful. The stats just support other anecdotal evidence. Neither of our current CM's offer any real creative spark, or inject tempo, neither actually ever get into the box and help create overloads or support attacks, and when you think one of them is basically a CB playing 5 yards further up the pitch, you'd hope the other one - ie Dembele - might offer just a smidgen of that, but he doesn't. And those stats, along with others, such as players like Mooy Fraser, Ngolo Kante, Loftus Cheek, Cleverly, Tom Carroll, xhaka, Can, Henderson to name a few, all average more key passes a game than Dembele.

We desperately need a couple of CM's who contribute more to our football, set some tempo, do something incisive or creative occasionally. It's our weakest area as a team.

We actually already have a player in the squad who can play that central midfield role and provide just that if he was played there. His name is Dele Alli.

I wouldn’t take any of those cm bar maybe Kante over Dembele so how can those stats be useful.

If we are playing the who goes, who stays game...

Alderweireld can go as long as Poch plucks up the courage to tell Dier he's not a CM. Rose can fuck off and stink out Mourinho's dressing room. Nkoudou can go. China isn't far enough for Sissoko.

CM's, cm's, cm's cm's. I want at least two CM's.
Dier's terrible. Dembele plays about 5 great games a season and three of them only last 60 minutes. I don't think Poch is ever going to give Onomah what he needs to prove good enough or not, and even if he was prepared to give Winks a better shot, I'm not convinced Winks will ever be top drawer. But I'd be happy of we kept either of these two around as well.

And I would like some composure and brains for the final third. Fekir, Draxler, Forsberg, Di Maria. Lamela, Alli, Son, Moura are all too erratic and unreliable. If we have to lose one of them to make way, I'd probably go for Lamela.

Is that really necessary. We want players to respect the shirt and we can say such of one of our longest serving players. Interestingly you use a kinda set of words for a contract rebel. I generally enjoy reading your posts.. I sometimes dont agree but i enjoy them... This post falls short of your standards.

Im sorry you've lost me. Picking the lock is exactly what he's doing this season, hence the 15 passes directly resulting in goals!

Alli has not once influenced a tight game this season. He hasn't made the clever pass through or tried to take the lead. Take West ham, Alli want the guy that pulled a rabbit out of the hat. He needs to start being that guy. He needs more space and time this season. He seems to need 2 or 3 extra touches. His overall influence on a game lower compared to Eriksen and Son. When the ball is with them to you know something could happen

He was on the verge of signing with us before. I think we have a good chance. Specially after he said he talked with Poch.
He's the only player that's been linked that would give us a real step up from our current level. A real improvement on our starting 11.
Sess, Malcom and the rest are very good players whom I'd like to sign, but they won't improve us right away like Isco would
Isco would be an incredible signing and exactly the sort of player we should be looking for. A player that will take us up a level now not in 4 or 5 years. Malcom is a good player and I would be happy with him, but by the time he is at his peak who Knows what players from our current crop will still be at the club. I certainly don’t see Malcom playing a big part in a PL challenge or a CL (if we get in) for at least a few seasons, he a prospect but very raw. And I say this having watched him a good number of times this season, not just a YouTube vid. I do think we need to invest in a player that is of the required quality now who can hit the ground running.

Both back up gks should be homegrown imo, seems odd to use non-hg spots on players who seldom play. Promote yoof or try and buy someone like walton or dawson.

Trippier not good enough, id roll with serge and kwp.

Never been convinced by Davies. If rose is to leave i think we need a left back in the walker or rose mould as Davies should be a back up at best.

Dont want toby to go but if this is inevitable we need to get a top european cb that can play in a 2 or a 3. Jan, sanchez, foyth, ccv to stay.

In midfield dier, winks, wanyama, dembele is ok as a four. People wanting a dembele rotation option, i do too but if one isn't available at a reasonable fee why not try onomah? If one of the mooted diawara, de jong types were to come in id sell dier personally though doubt poch would!

Id still like maddison as a back up to eriksen. Hopefully sessegnon comes in and has an alli like impact. Son, lucas, lamela and malcom would give us plenty of options behind kane.

Im still banging the brereton drum for a kane back up. Reminds me of Harry when I've seen him.

Nando, Vincent, gkn and sissoko can leave with best wishes.

In - hg gk, pacey lb, european cb, sess, malcom, maddison, brereton, (dembele mk2)

Out - vorm and/or gazza, trips, rose/davies, toby (prefer not), nando, sissoko, gkn, janssen (dier)

He is extremely good at "picking the lock" - I don't think we have a better player for spotting and executing a through ball (maybe Lamela).

That's not Dele creating a goal against a team that sits back. He is great against teams that play, but against teams that sit back... Not one of those was that.

Man Utd are set to renew their in interest in Eric Dier by tabling a £55m bid for the midfielder in the summer however Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell any players to a direct rival.

Don't want to sell Toby, but if we did it would be for Van Dick money - £75m and not a penny less.

Sell Nkoudou, Llorente, Sissoko and Janssen immediately.

If we aren't looking at Maddison, De Ligt and De Jong, I'd like to know why. If we are that's great.

As much as he has improved I'd sell Lamela and bring in Malcom - more of a goal threat, and from what I've seen more versatile without being a liability in the tackle (feel free to disagree).

Reus might work as a back up striker and AM cover.

Not bothered about Sessegnon - think he's overrated and not worth £50m when you consider his all round game (sorry to the blind faith-ers).

We seem to have a home grown player numbers issue.

This is a big issue, barring Sessegnon we’re not actively linked with any homegrown talent or more importantly I can’t think of any off the top of my head whom are readily available and good enough. Maddison is decent but not at £25m, especially when he’d be bottom of the food chain.

Agree. If we finally want to move up from mid table mediocrity we should really be looking to get rid of all the dross currently infecting us A-S-A-P
