That type of injury is from impact, nothing to do with the strength of the ligaments.

It's not from impact, it's from the foot / ankle getting into an unnatural position. Obviously that happens most often from impact, but you could do it by going over on your own ankle with no impact at all. And every time you injure the same ligaments, the chance of doing it again rises.

Each time he’s done it, it’s always followed a challenge where his foot ends up in an unnatural position, sort of folded under at the ankle.

It’s not like he picks these injuries up with zero contact. It’s his commitment and desire that leads to the injury.

Vastly different scales of course but I've sprained my ankle more times than I care to remember on a football pitch, so many so that I'm currently going through the process to have reconstructive surgery this summer. From my point of view, once I've done it now it seemingly heals quicker than previously. Hope that's the case with Kane...:cautious:

Same for me had a calf release, bunion and ligament 're attachment in one hit last year. Got fit again and received a horror tackle which broke two tendons and straighter two others. Recovered from that quicker as everything is more supple. It doesn't look long term.

For the records 're scans. I had my scans whilst in a wheel chair so not sure swelling is link ed

Plus shit tackling from opponents trying to stop him.

Going by what Gards has said, am I right to assume that the very fact that he's had his scan done today, means that he had no swelling, as otherwise he would have had to wait to have the scan until the swelling has reduced ?
His foot had fallen off by the end of the day yesterday so they Fedexed it to the hospital first thing this morning.

I heard his foot was infested with snakes that had eaten some scorpions containing malarial mosquitoes and as a result we probably need to launch his ankle to the moon as the only viable option.

So Pochettino, how about that Kane?
"We will have to wait for the scan. We are very optimistic"

"The scan was today, so we can say anything for certain until tomorrow. We are optimistic"

"Yes, Kane is out for this weekend vs. Swansea. We continue to monitor him and is going well. We are optimistic"

"Yeah, Kane is good, we are very happy with him, he is taking it well and we are optimistic".

So Pochettino, how about that Kane?
"Yeah Kane, he suffered a bit five weeks ago vs. Bournemouth and has been out since, but we continue to monitor him and I think we are optimistic"

If it wasn’t for international break and World Cup this would be the truth. But now the whole country wants to know. I think we will get something clearer but I’m sure “ we are so calm” .

I was just about to post exactly this.

Even though he was offside, how was the keeper allowed to get away with cleaning him out?
Since the offside happened the tackle never occurred during play and anything short of violent conduct will go unpunished. Just an accepted rule implementation that results in a lot of injuries.

Even had Kane been offside he would not have been punished since he got his shot away. Another accepted rule implementation which also results in injuries (and a lot of missed shots).

Lastly he's the keeper and short of taking a player down pre-shot they get away with pretty much anything. Yada yads accepted yada yada injuries.

Until I've heard from @Lemon and his prognosis, I'll just have to believe its not to serious and he will be back for Chelski.

@Nerine

When I saw it, I thought it looked worse than the other two in impact terms.

However, he was not carrying the obvious fatigue, as some might recall I was calling him out to get injured the week before the first one (making a few posters look rather silly, when he then got injured after their howls of derision).

Anyway, I have no qualification to know jack about injuries like this, neither do the surgeons as you can see. But I am a badass with my intuitive abilities.

My guess is they will say it's the same grade as before, but it will actually be worse and he will struggle to make it back this season. But hope I am spectacularly wrong, of course.

The scan will likely give an accurate indication of the main injury.

But, if he has fatigue residue in the area, it can change this timescale dramatically.

You have mockingly articulated a very real club issue IMO. His ankle will swell, the intensity of swelling will depend somewhat on the tissue status (if he was fatigued and that was why he had been slightly off form, he may have secondary recovery work to complete after the ligament(s) have healed).

Honestly seeing it live I didn't think it was that bad and his reactions kind of backed that up. The replay looked nasty but he walked off without a limp or obvious discomfort and it looked like he was preparing to come back on before they changed their mind and he went off down the tunnel. Fingers crossed he'll be back this season but we're stronger without him than we have been over the past few seasons. And if there's any shred of comfort it's that it'll force Poch to develop a proper plan B without Harry, which will make us more flexible as a team going forward.

Walking off means nothing In the past players have walked off and then found their ACL has gone. If we get away with a month We’ll cope. Unfortunately misses the Chelsea match if so. He hasn’t looked quite as sharp in the last few weeks so might do him good. Sonny can cover ok and we’ve got plenty of attackers to cover other positions.
