40 year old man gets teased about the result of a football match and spits in a child's face. What a truly disgusting individual.

You make it sound like he grabbed her by the hair and hawked in her eyes mate.

Now I'm not excusing him, and I've never spat out of a moving car, but just throwing something with any accuracy is pretty damn hard.

Carragher should re-release the song "My Way".....classic lyrics...

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

Sky need to sack him, he can’t get away with spitting in a 14 year old girls face!
They’re hardly short of ex players wanting that job too I would imagine.
Tar rar Jamie you scumbag.

Exactly, the same could be said on Neville who openly criticises managers on a weekly basis, after clearly showing he can't manage for toffee.

His failure in Spain doesn't,imo, clearly show he can't manage.

I think his mistake was to manage abroad for his first job, sometimes trying to get players motivated or your message across in a foreign language doesn't work, i think Neville could still go on and be a decent manager....but in the prem.

He won't be sacked unless sky viewers start on mass to threaten cancelling their subscription, which i doubt will happen.
That's obvious or he wouldn't have been allowed anywhere near sky yesterday trying to save his job.

But i cannot see how he can possible be a credible pundit anymore, he will hold back so much all that will be left is his whiney voice and him sitting on the fence when conduct is an issue.
Holding back might be a good idea.

It was brutal seeing him having to sit in that Sky News interview and watch the clip and the woman scolding him thoroughly after.

Usually it's Carragher who plays judge, jury and executioner.

To be honest I don't think you have to have been a great player or manager to be a great pundit. Plenty of top players and managers are god-awful pundits, think Shearer and the like, whereas average players like Jenas can be great pundits. Also I'd say the people with the best analysis are usually people who never played the game to any great level at all. I value the opinion of some of the journos at the Guardian etc. much more highly than anything Alan Shearer has ever said and most of them never even played Sunday League football.

Much like being a top physicist doesn't necessarily mean you'll be a good physics professor, I don't think there's necessarily a correlation to success in management/playing and being a good pundit. To be fair the ex pros obviously offer some interesting insights into what goes on in the dressing room etc. that others couldn't, but in terms of tactical analysis etc. most of them don't have a clue.

I dont, journalists are just fans who can put a few paragraphs together.
They will, by their very nature, have an extremely limited understanding of the game in general, compared to someone who has played or managed professionally.
This is for another thread though.

Could we maybe create a new thread for this? Reserve this thread for laughing at the dippers for what their current players are doing?

Not really, they're paid to spend their days watching and analysing football and some of them have even published books on the subject of tactics etc. so to say they have a limited understand of the game is harsh. I'm not talking about the random people who just write nonsense transfer rumour nonsense but the proper journos who write proper analysis. Players obviously have an insight into certain aspects of the game that you can only get by playing, but that doesn't necessarily make them better at analysing a game they're watching, especially not if they're unable to articulate anything properly. For all we know Shearer is an absolute tactical genius but if he isn't able to get that across then he's still a shit pundit who offers no more insight than any random bloke who's watched the MOTD highlights.

How long until Liverpool print t-shirts defending him?
Think the ex-pro's are doing a good enough job as it is.

I've been pretty shocked at the people within the game that are saying he should "have a few weeks off" and carry on as usual.

It just goes to show how footballers think they are above the rest of us that somebody can flem one up in a childs face and keep his job in the public eye.

Why is no one congratulating Carra on his accuracy? Pretty impressive.

Too soon?

I got a good example of this. Freddy Ljungberg is the new pundit on EPL / CL matches on swedish telly and he's just awful. He can hardly put a sentence together the few analysis he does produce are just general sports cliches. He loves talking about Arsenal though. :hungover:

The best pundits in my opinion are usually ex-managers / coaching staff. Lars Lagerbäck (Former manager for Sweden, Iceland, now Norway), occasionally on swedish TV for CL, is really just a joy to listen to. He's not the most charismatic person to say the least but the way he just deconstructs tactics and team setups is fantastic.
