I think the game against Bournemouth has made people think we dont need the best centre forward in world football

If we beat Chelsea, which I think that we can (even without Kane), then top four would probably in the bag for us as Chelsea have also to play pool later in the season

We need Kane v Chelsea City. He holds the ball up when we're under pressure, not sure Son can provide this to be honest, hopefully proved wrong
Agreed, Chelski and City are not Bournemouth! To be honest a resurgent Swansea in an FA cup tie ain’t either! We will miss Kane Big time. Good news ( for some) is he will be back for World Cup. But yes pity we happened to get city and Chelski and an important FA cup draw all while he will be out. Such bad luck for us, I’m sure Chelski and Liverpool are laughing the Arses off. Thanks god for the gap v Arsenal ( shit shouldn’t have said that:)

One month out and we do not play in the league for 2 more weeks so it may not be so bad .

I’m worried about not having him if we make the fa cup semi final and also his golden boot prospects:(

Think he'll be back for City. Kane is a dedicated professional, he'll hit the ground running straight away as well.

Can we cope out without him? Short term yes I think.

We looked good against Bournemouth and I expect us to line up similar against Chelsea. We'll press them hard and look fluid and dynamic in attack, might actually work in our favour for that particular game.

Luckily he scores when he wants. Only need about 6 more games to win the golden boot

2/1/3/3/2/4 - Another 15 goals should do it!!

I think whatever we might gain in fluidity of attack against Chelsea with Kane out has got to be cancelled out by the fact that he's not only our one undeniably world-class player, he's a guy who's effectively a human symbol of the club and its recent growth. I think we will manage against Swansea and Stoke, but it's really going to suck to see Spurs go to a place like Stamford Bridge and not have the reassurance of knowing that Harry Kane will be playing for us. No way that doesn't have an impact on the other players' mentality going into that game.

I disagree with the premise and the conclusion.

We have a number of world-class players. Eriksen, Dembele, Vertonghen and Lloris come immediately to mind as players who are among the very best in the world at their position.

I also think that this team are not going to psychologically miss Kane. Kane is a massive player for us - no question. And, I am not suggesting we will be "better" without him. But, I also don't think we use Kane as a crutch as much as the media portray us as a one-person team.

I think when a player goes out, others lift their games to compensate. I think Dele will take on a bigger role - knowing he has less margin for error with Kane out. I think Eriksen will take on a slightly different mentality where he might look to take more shot opportunities. I think Lamela takes every opportunity seriously - he will be looking to create scoring opportunities for Dele, Son and Eriksen.

I think the defenders will be a bit more responsible in their positions - knowing that we might have win games with fewer goals.

I guess, in short, I expect everyone to raise their games to compensate for the loss of Kane, so I don't think anyone will be "down" about going to Stamford Bridge without Kane, and I think everyone will be expecting to get a win.

Anyone know if his Golden Boots included ankle ligaments?

Could swap them out.

Yeah, I don't want to make it seem like they'll be directionless without him. They've coped well (to varying degrees) without him in the past. But Stamford Bridge is a brutal fixture for us, and I can't help but feel like everything has to go right for Spurs to finally win there. And that includes going in there with 100% self-belief and a perfect mentality, which has got to be brutally difficult when your talisman is missing. It's just another obstacle in a game where we don't need it.

Who knows what happens, though. This is certainly a tougher side mentally than what I'm used to seeing from Spurs.

It seems to me that without Harry we just play a different pattern of football. Yes HK bullies the defenders and can score any type of goal. But we are not lost without him, we just play a faster and more dynamic attacking style, one that is just as hard for defenders to deal with. When HK was injured in October/November 2016 we really struggled, but in February 2017 we didn't because we adapted. Against Bournemouth we scored 4 after Harry was injured. Harry is a great player and one I hope will stay with us for his whole career But we can and will cope very well if he is out for a while. A front 4 of Eriksen, Son, Lamela and Alli would be a nightmare to defend against with their pace and quick one touch passing.

We can do this. COYS!

Son also offers a different threat to Harry as a 9. The two obvious are the pace in behind and ability to beat 2 or 3 and get a shot off. It’s obviously balances out as you lose kane physicality his poaching and aerial threat. Obviously they both have that ability to beat 2 or 3 and get shot off just sonny is a bit more dynamic where Kane tends to use his strength. Imo we become a very different team with a very fluid front 3 much like city or Liverpool. I’m actually quite excited to see it, just hope my optimism isnt misplaced. Also hope he sticks with Eriksen in that slightly deeper role much like coutinho was at Liverpool or de Bruyne is playing.

Son gets injured and we're fucked.

Fernando was a ludicrous acquisition.

Give it a rest. The guy was in the top ten strikers last season playing for a side fighting relegation, he offered an option as a target man off the bench, he’s happy playing second fiddle, he’s been a serial winner in his career and he cost £12m. He was exactly the right choice to be our reserve striker and continues to be. No player with his minutes would have performed better, and no player would have got more minutes because Kane has had a great season again,

I mean Llorente was a stupid purchase.

I said it was wrong from the start.

Vitriol over seeing a Spurs player struggle is just low.

I honestly think we will see players view this as an opportunity to impress and prove we aren't the 'Harry Kane ' team.

Son is on form, llorente had a good game on his last outing and we have all sorts of options in attack like moura to provide freshness.

I also don't understand the Chelsea inferiorty complex going on here . We are on better form and higher in the league. We might lose, but I think it's just as likely we win, such is the way when two matched teams meet. History counts for nothing.

Fuck Chelsea. Swansea is the more important game. If we can't beat Swansea, even without Kane then that's yet another season we've pissed away a great chance of the FA Cup.

I don't necessarily subscribe to it but we need to win a trophy, if nothing else just to stop the dreary repetition of every media outlet.

Kane will be a massive miss, as he would for any team, but Son and any of the other attacking 4 (or Even at Llorente into the mix, which I'd rather not) would do a job too. We aren't a one man team, let's go and prove it.

We have a mental inferiority complex at the bridge
