Is he L'Oreal?

BrightEvergreenAss-size_restricted.gif
Who is?

He’s the best player in a poor Bordeaux team and only just turned 21. In today’s market he is worth 50m.

I haven’t seen much of Sessegnon but Malcom is currently a much better player (I know he’s older). He bosses games and has a great attitude.

Thanks for the info.

If he is at that level already then surely we’d have to sell to make room for him.

Probably.

Last thing on him for me. He’s missed 3 of the last 4 games and Bordeaux picked up 2 points and scored 1 goal.

The 4 games before he played and they scored 9 goals and won all of them including 3-1 win over Lyon.

He makes them tick when he’s playing well. We’ll regret not going hard for him.

He sounds good, who’s that?
This guy was at my school in years 10 and 11. He was easily the best player that I've played directly with/against. He had an agreement with some italian club to join their youth team. Not sure what happened to him after that though.

It is hard to consider replacing Eriksen, Alli or Son.

Lamela has returned and playing well and Moura is new.

So replacing any of our current 5 is difficult to contemplate.

But we have scored 9 less than Liverpool and more than 20 less than City.

I believe we have only scored one more than Mourinho’s Utd so maybe we do need to be ruthless and look to improve a strong area.

I still like to think getting a better passer from deep would help more though.

I think he’s a luxury, statement kind of signing. I’ve seen people talk about Bale in another thread and I understand the sentimentality behind that - but Malcom would be a far better signing.

I agree with you that a high quality cm would a better signing. It depends on our financials I guess. I’d be happy with Malcom and a first class cm even if I know most people here would want more !!

People never address who they think should be benched or sold when they name their 'want' list. How unhappy would other settled players become and how would you stop the boat from rocking? It's one of the first questions I ask myself when the subject comes up.

We're being linked with Maxi Gomez from Celta. I think he could be a good backup. He said yesterday he'd like to play for us.
I mentioned him before as a good alternative to Dolberg or Arp. He's more developed than those 2, and I believe he wouldn't need to acclimatize to the physical demands of the PL. Maybe adapt to the faster pace, but he won't be bullied by strong defenders
21yrs old, from Uruguay, big and strong

Very similar player to Diego Costa.. not the quickest but has good movement..he could do well.. Willian Jose at Sociedad is another that would be suited to PL.. personally a kid I've seen for Brazil underage teams who I think is going to be a superstar Lincoln of Flamengo he's only had a few sub appearance for Flamengo but he is something special.. he can't move until next January but I'd do deal for him now to join next January

I guess the other option is to bring in Malcom as a long-term option.

Pochettino likes to slowly integrate. So buying him this summer giving a year to settle in and if we sell a player next summer we’ll have a readymade replacement.

Going into our new stadium against about 3/4 of the PL teams at home I think there's a possibility of playing an extra attacking player with Eriksen helping out centrally.

Wanyama
Eriksen
Malcom Dele Son
Kane
Lamela and Lucas would be rotation/sub options for those 3 behind Kane. It would also mean we can manage Dembele keeping him fit for the big away games and home games vs top 6. I wouldn't bother with a back up striker in squad apart from a youth prospect and play Son there with Lamela or Lucas coming in.

It’s it’s a good question but I don’t think it’s final.

Big teams have competition look at man city - no one says “don’t sign Sané because sterling will be unhappy”. They say - “look what strength in depth they have”.

If sterling wants to play he will bust a gut in training and compete. Same with Sané who comes knowing there’s competition for places but that the seasons long. As poch says - footballers get paid to train not to play matches.

Ensuring players play to their limit is an important reason to bring in quality - particularly in the forward positions where consistency is less important (like the gk - cb pairing combo). This is amplified for young players who are rapidly improving and someone like Alli will benefit greatly from the competition.

I’d also add that playing Son up front as cover for Kane and shifting Llorente would be a welcome move.

Malcom is a very big prospect but he is very raw, i wouldn't be starting him ahead of Lucas or Lamela, not for a while. I think a lot of fans would find him very frustrating as he has a tendency to overdo things if the game isn't going his way often resulting in running down blind alleys. He will be a quality player in time, but he would need help developing his talent and would/should not be expected to make an instant impact from the off. His stats for Bordeaux are very impressive but he is only 20 and fades in an out of games a lot, as is common for players of his age. All in all i would be very happy signing him, but he would be one for the future, not the now and i wold not be selling Lamela to get him.

We already exceed the amount of foreign players we have for cl football and with ccv, onomah and kwp hitting 21 we will have to sell.

Has some nice vision in the mold of Kane honestly. Not the fastest, but lulls defenders to relax and then uses a burst to get past them. Eerily similar to Kane in a lot of ways, but seems more of a bruiser in the box and didn't see one goal from outside the box.
