Few U23 with first squad on getty images. Think I spotted Harrison georgiou and one other wasn’t sure who. Just making up numbers I’d guess.

Brandon Austin is also in the U19s but as 'training keeper' - third keeper. They are only allowed to officially announce two as per UEFA regulations.

4 in U18s must be most we’ve had in an age group for a while.

We've had 4 in the u18s age group for the 96, 3 for the 97s, 3 for the 98s and 3 for the 99s. So for the u18 age group it's been 4 exactly.

However for year groups our 99s have had around 4/5 call-ups at u17 level, depending on which age group Dinzeyi was first called up.

We've also had 4 called up at one go for the 00 age group before when they were u16s. Skipp, Kirby, TOB, Eyoma, and 8 called up in that age group across different times. As I've said though those are our 2 strongest age groups so no surprise we've had so many call-ups.

Just seen confirmation that Omolabi is gone. The cancellation of his contract was registered with the FA in Feb.

I recorded the England u18 v Ireland earlier on the off chance that we had someone playing in it.

Before I watch it, were any of our kids playing?

it's not the proper u18s but rather a schoolboy(county football) version.

so to answer your question, no, none of ours are there.

What players do on the training ground is just as important. As Poch likes to say "You sign to train". He decides if you get to play. Attitudes to training have changed hugely since the days of the likes of Redknapp where it was not treated at all seriously. Coaches these days monitor everything. If Edwards won't train the right way during the week then he's not going to get picked on a Saturday. This is a question of Edwards humility, professionalism and dedication. If he's the sort of lad that thinks he can coast then you've got to get him out because it only gets worse. He'll never reach his potential because you only do that by having humility, professionalism and dedication. Fergie's famous young side didn't achieve what they did by farting about and phoning it in, not even in training. Those that wouldn't or couldn't meet the highest of standards were show the door and I can't think of any of them that proved Fergie wrong.

What would happen to Poch's authority if he let Edwards do less than everyone else? What message would that send to the rest of the squad?

Its far too early to give up on Edwards just yet but he needs to show some progress in this loan spell. This Farke bloke isn't some little englander stuck in the 70's he's a modern, European coach with modern attitudes. He dropped their best striker a couple of weeks ago because he'd let his standards slip on the training ground and got a bit too big for his boots. Farke left him out and told to assess his attitude and behaviour. Its exactly what Edwards needs.

Bit over the top, no? I don't think Farke has said anything outrageous about Edwards, most of what he said is reasonable, and stuff you would expect to be said about a 19yo forward/AM who's played 10 minutes of senior football in his life and who's got lots of learning to do.

Do you really think after the last two or three years in our academy and with everything that’s been drilled into him by Poch, McDermot et al, that Edwards thinks he can coast or that he can get away with behaving like a complete twat?

Every time I’ve watched him in the last year or so he’s looked to me like he’s clearly trying to work harder without the ball.

What happens to Poch's authority when players like Son and Alli (watch both Juve goals) don't quite press properly or diligently work without the ball?

We are all on board with a good work ethic and attitude, but no one with any real knowledge has ever actually said anything that warrants the kind character assassination that's getting repeatedly trotted out about Edwards now.

A few weeks ago you were posting remarks from Bentaleb's manager and wrongly interpreting them too, his manager wasn't saying he's a lazy troublemaker, just that he's not happy when he isn't playing, and he's played almost constantly since those comments for the same manager.

Bentaleb was dropped for 2 games due to poor performance in training (lazyness?) and the manager and sporting director criticised his attitude when not playing not just that he was unhappy. I think you are just seeing what you want to see.

Is the lazyness your own word or the managers? Because what I read was him saying he's going round looking miserable because he's not playing, I disn't read anything about lazyness.

Bentaleb came on as sub, scored a pen the very next game and has started every game since. Strange if the manager thought he was pissing about in training?
