he was legitimately crap last season, but has been rated harshly here all of this season. its easy to see why Poch rates him - he will do whatever is asked of him - play wide, play holding or more advanced in the center. And to be fair, most of the time last year he was played wide as an attacking mid which isnt his strong suit.

Honest question, what did he do that makes you all say he had a 'very good' game? He still cant pass or shoot the ball properly, i don't want to be negative all the time with him but i feel like I'm taking crazy pills with some of these posts.

Confirmation bias.

Take that away and its one of the best CM displays we've seen at Spurs this season. He really was involved in everything - linking defence to offence as good as any midfield destroyer over the years.

Now it was against a very poor Swansea - so you factor that in. No one expects him to be Makelele. But today he was genuinely very very good.

Good on him.

As many touches as Eriksen today.

Yes, because those touches were so similar.

What an inane bore you are.

When he keeps it simple and doesn't have to think too much he's actually alright. It's just when he gets into advanced attacking positions he's like a rabbit in the headlights.

I wouldn't mind keeping him next season, as a midfield destroyer backup. He's very popular in the dressing room and I can't see us recouping anywhere near what we paid for him.

he had a pass accuracy of 92.7% yesterday, the highest of any of our midfield/attacking players.

Thats meaningless when 91.9% were to three feet taps to Eriksen or four feet knocks to Dier, he absolutely fulfilled his role, no complaints, but to say he was 'very good' is mad, he was satisfactory, fine, alright.

If we're judging that as 'very good' then Jenas or Carroll were consistently our best players of all time, the stats don't lie.

Nope. I'm a Spurs fan. And a follower of football.

I'm beginning to think you are neither.

Which is a shame because I used to quite respect your views. Enjoyed them...

But you are becoming a complete and utter cock. Poch and Sissoko have found a way for Sissoko to be an important part of this squad. It's been obvious for most of this campaign. But you can't accept that. You feel humiliated that other people do. So you act like a cock.

You are acting like a cock. You think you are better than Poch who has forged Sissoko into a quality depth player in our squad.

I'll take Poch thanks...

And I'll also applaud good performances by Spurs players when I see them.

You're such a fucking hypocrite. A few weeks ago you were accusing Sissoko of hiding. Now, when he has as many touches as one of the best players in the entire world (Eriksen) you quibble about his quality?!

He had a great game. WHy can't you just acknowledge that?!

Are you a fucking Gooner in disguise? What the hell is wrong with you?

He passed the ball perfectly fine in this game. On top of that he was dilligent defensively when he needed to be and on a number of times gave us genuine drive from midfield carrying the ball in transition to get us into an attacking phase.

I wouldn't say he was outstanding or anything, and he certainly wasn't MotM, but he was quite good. He's had a number of good games in CM this season, including those against Madrid home and away.

He might not be good enough long term, but Pochettino is on record as saying that he's one of our best players for both defensive and offensive transition and that he likes his athleticism, which is a trait that Pochettino values highly in midfield.

I like your posts usually BC, they're fun to engage with, but there's definitely something hypocritical. When Eriksen was garbage against Palace and widely regarded as being poor by most, BC gave him MotM and raved about how many touches he had as justification for that. It's a strange way to go about it.

Did well enough today. Certainly not great like some on here are portraying it. But he didnt fuck up and did his job so kudos. I fear that this will give Poch the excuse he was looking for to start playing him alot again.

Was pretty decent yesterday. Didn’t do anything standout but likewise he didn’t fuck up 2 or 3 times like he usually does so hats off.

We’ll surely still be looking to get rid this summer though, I would’ve thought.

And this ladies and gentlemen, is why you don’t post after a skinful of alcohol on a Saturday.

Made me spit my tea out.

Please keep posting Phomesy. You brighten up my day.

You know that disagreeing with people is half the fun of life? If we all agreed on everything we’d send each other insane.

Odd. Not sure what you are disagreeing with. The stats - interceptions; passing; tackles; touches and influence on the game back up my post. Did you watch a different game?

No, you see this can't possibly be right because BC and The Apprentice say so. And our manager is a clueless mug who can go fuck himself. :ROFLMAO:
