I've got to assume that you are pissed Madam as Dier's "dodgy passing" was nearly 100% pass completion from around100 passes... he slightly over clubbed one to Trips late in the 2nd half that TBH i'd have said was more on K.T than Eric but that's just my eyes.

It was 100% at half time, just checked 93% at full time (128 passes) 137 touches, he gets a lot of shit does Dier and granted he's not Iniesta but he's a good player doesn't deserve half the shit he gets IMHO

Sorry i'm not having a pop it's just i swear some Spurs fans eyes are painted on a lot of the time. :bag:

What he's talking about is not the 98% simple and unimaginative passes Dier does complete, but the 2% of really careless ones he makes in defensive areas that put the whole team under pressure. He has always had these in him, especially if he's put under a bit of pressure.

Actually had 8 players over 90% pass completions today. Not sure I’ve ever seen that before most Is 3 or 4 if we play well. Sanchez was top boy with 94.9 % . Even our worst was Lucas and he was still 87% lol

Just out of interest, what were the plethora of positives that people have been ignoring to focus on the negatives with Sissoko? I'm afraid your comparison of Sissoko and Lamela is totally bogus. Lamela in his early time with us showed some eraticness but also some above average qualities and skill set, great technique, some trickery, some vision, ability to play incisive passes and tenacity too. Throughout his time he has produced assists and chances for others.

All Sissoko has shown is a mind numbing lack of technique, a lack of anything you could call exceptional, an uncomfortableness on the ball that hampers the team, and huge limitations of vision or skill set.

Sissoko was fine today, no more. But he was playing against the worst, most passive opposition performance against us that we've seen for about 3 years. We could have played a 16yo kid and they'd have looked fine.

Anyone using this as a mark of Sissoko's quality or supposed upturn in quality is a deluded buffoon. Anyone who thinks he was even close to MOTM today, or that he's anything other than a woefully inadequate footballer at this level, deserves to watch Sissoko every week.
Try reading the post properly before asking questions that have no relevance to what was written. I never mentioned Sissoko when referring to the “plethora of positives,” I was talking solely of Lamela.

Silly billy.

What you say about Lamela is correct though, which just underlined my point, there were those who ignored all of that to focus solely on the negatives.

On Sissoko, what exactly did he do today that “hampered the team?”

I’ll answer for you, absolutely nothing, quite the opposite really. I qualified my post by stating that he has been extremely underwhelming until recently. I guess that bit was “glossed over” by yourself though as it doesn’t fit in with your narrative. What is most apparent here is that you seem to take umbrage with any poster who offers even the slightest positive reaction to Sissoko, taking every opportunity, without fail, to find fault...

One would think you’re doing your damndest to cling tenaciously to that “I told you so” agenda referred to earlier.

The only “deluded buffoon” posting here is yourself. It has been apparent for a while that you wait to see what the consensus of opinion on here is before you post, JUST so you can take the opposite viewpoint. It’s comical in its predictability.

I note you’re not taking anyone to task for labelling Eriksen a “Wizard,” despite “the most passive opposition performance against us that we’ve seen for about 3 years.”

Doesn’t fit the agenda though hey?

You’ve become a parody of yourself BC. Get your head out of your arse or the only daylight you’ll be seeing is through the gaps in your teeth.

"We could have played a 16yo kid". This is the typical BC logic. Onomah could do better than Sissoko. Lesniak could do what Sissoko could offer. I know everyone loves to see our youth products to flourish. And, Sissoko, as a not very good player, hinders them to get a real chance in the first team. But this is not a good reason to undermine Sissoko's performance today.

It is really hypothetical to assume that "We could have played a 16yo kid and they'd have looked fine". The gap between youth team and the first team is really big (see Onomah). The fact that Sissoko is good today does not necessarily mean that a youth player could also play that well today. Sissoko is part of our team who dominates the midfield and makes swansea looking bad today. (As @Ionman34 meantioned, he does not hampered the team) He is nowhere near a perfect player, so you must be able to point out some problems of sissoko. But this is really, really unfair to Sissoko. His performance and effort (to make Swansea looking bad) deserves credits today.

To be honest, Sissoko is not a very good player. But I cannot really hate him because of his effort. Moreover, even if I hated him, this is not the reason for me to judge his performance with bias. Same with the relationship between BC and Dier.

LOL, you don't need commentary to tell the difference between Vorm and Hugo surely?
Ha ha it was a pretty small screen and I hadn't seen any close ups of the GK until just after the that double save

Tbf to BC, he's correct in that Swansea were absolutely beyond woeful and it was such a nice game for us. They're efforts just about stretched to getting in behind the ball, and that was it. No effort in any other defensive work or staying compact. It got to the point where someone like Ben Davies was confident enough to try running at players, and being made to look like Bale in the process. As it turned out, you could have dropped a player in to that for development purposes as it was such an armchair ride.

It was basically a training session, and people shouldn't really get excited and take anything out of it.

Maybe you are right. But I think the Ki-Carroll midfield combination does have a tactical disadvantage when facing Sissoko's athleticism (possibly the best thing of Sissoko).

So does Wanyama, with Wanyama also more likely to lose it from dwelling on the ball and getting caught, but the Wanyama>Dier folks regularly conveniently ignore those.

We did what we had to do and won comfortably, but how bad Swansea were did help certain players look better than they have been for a while, Swansea didn't offer anything lets be honest.

But that's not our problem and we were very professional, But lest not go overboard.

Toby not even getting a late run out doesn't look good, i think hes off.

Sissoko is lacking in technique and he's without question a player I'd be looking to upgrade in the Summer, but he's no where near as bad as you make out.

I actually think you are a pretty good poster, with a lot of insightful things to say but...... I have now got to the point where I will be reading one of your more interesting posts, you'll mention Sissokko, and I will just write the entire post off.

Even yesterday when he did well(better than the majority of his team any way). You have to find a way to slag him off. In the last round you did the same. Both MS and Winks were poor in the first half, but to you MS should have been taken off. Second half MS improved, Winks was equally garbage and got pulled early on. You couldn't see this at all, and Apparently Sissokko was the worse of the two.

It is clear you don't like him, and that's fine, but is there any reason to keep having a dig at every given opportunity. It(IMO) really makes you come accross like bit of an arse, especially when you are calling people buffoons, for not agreeing with what comes accross as nothing more than blind hatred. If it isn't then why do you feel the need to have a go, any time anyone suggests he's not playing to your predetermined lower than low expectations?

Sissoko had a good game but I do feel that whatever foot he uses it looks like he’s been forced to go with his weaker one and is concentrating really hard to get it right, with mixed success.

Because of that, the Sissoko war will rage on. As some fans will see that extra concentration when it pays off as great effort against the odds, which it is, while others will see it as the sign of a huge lack of technique, which it is.

There’s really no avoiding such an obvious lack of technique for a professional footballer but he didn’t pay the money for himself. He’s our player, so I like that people are supporting him and that he’s got a cult following as we’ve had a lot worse players at Spurs but we shouldn’t confuse that with actual technique.

Poch likes to utilise him but do we reckon he’d buy him again? I’d love to know

Suppose when we play well, albeit against a disinterested looking team, it comes back to slagging Sissoko off.

I find it so fucking strange. Yes, he's technically not the best, but those powerful runs through the centre of the pitch are dam effective.

He works hard for the cause, puts in a shift and still people find away to slag him off.

He puts on the Tottenham shirt and puts in the effort, he deserves some slack from quite a few on here.

I’ll bite my tongue on Sissoko, as have nothing new to add to my views.

Yesterday was exactly what we needed. A confidence builder for some fringe players against an abysmally motivated Swansea. It felt like they didn’t want to be out there.

We were thoroughly professional and dominated. It was the most relaxed I’ve been watching Spurs for some years.

Eriksen and Lamela head and shoulders above everyone else creatively. Think with Moura chucked in, they could be a great combo for the three behind Kane against bus Parker’s in some instances.

Happy to be shot down, but there really isn’t much in it between Lloris and Vorm, who is much better with the ball at his feet.

Not shooting you down, just not agreeing...........Vorm has this habit of often passing to a player who is being closed down which results in us being put under undue pressure. We saw this multiple times v Newport and Rochdale and again a couple of times v Swansea.

His actual kicking accuracy may or may not be better, but his choice of pass, or when NOT to pass is pretty poor in my onion.

Aye, neither option is ideal ball-wise. They both have a habit of playing dead straight passes out to the edge of the box to someone running towards their own goal. Gets my sphincter twitching.

Appreciate it’s not easy to find a ball playing keeper. It could be worse, we could have Cech.

Although Sissy did have a better than average game yesterday he still managed to give us some classic comedy moments.
