: "It's common knowledge that we've not been happy with Nabil's manner in recent weeks.

He added: "He's not a bad person, but he's over-ambitious. Everything's bad when he's not playing.

"We could win 5-0, but if he were only to feature for 45 minutes he'd make a face as if we had lost 5-0."

"If all of us were to think that way, we'd have a problem. Thank God that's not the case. Nabil must change, and he understands it."

That's what the manager said.

The german press though were less kind and have dubbed bentaleb the schalke slacker. But that was from may i couldn't find much this season.

Actually found this from this march which is much better.

Todesco said: "Of the quality, Nabil would definitely be a Goretzka successor", while Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel added: "We all agree with Schalke that maybe Nabil is the best footballer in the whole team. Nabil will gradually move closer, game by game, to the performance he can bring."

Is the lazyness your own word or the managers? Because what I read was him saying he's going round looking miserable because he's not playing, I disn't read anything about lazyness.

Bentaleb came on as sub, scored a pen the very next game and has started every game since. Strange if the manager thought he was pissing about in training?
I put a question mark next to laziness. All of the German news outlets reported him being dropped due to poor performance in training and Tedesco said "sporting as well as disciplinary reasons".

The manager actually criticised him for shooting too much not because his lazy or of poor attitude
Not heard the shooting criticism but the is what the manager and sporting director said:

Tedesco said it was "It's well known that we disagree with Nabil's way of speaking in recent days and weeks. We also got the crew on board. The things are clearly formulated and addressed. It's up to him We are forgiving. We need and we want his quality."

"Sporting director Christian Heidel added that Bentaleb must "channel his extreme ambition" and said the club believed he had learned his lessons.

"Nabil wants to play, and will understand it that if he does not change, he will not play," he said. "That's why he'll change.

"We could win 5-0, but if he were only to feature for 45 minutes he'd make a face as if we had lost 5-0."

"If all of us were to think that way, we'd have a problem. Thank God that's not the case. Nabil must change, and he understands it."

You have a tendancy towards the overly dramatic coys200, he's been there coming up two seasons...

It's been like that for a little while with them and would have nothing to do with Mourinho. The only area PL managers affect the England age groups is at u21 and senior level, through not playing, but then Mourinho was responsible for introducing a player that wasn't massively rated at youth level who then had Scotland and England fighting over him. So he seems to have done OK comparitvely

So not laziness at all then. And you accused me of seeing what I want to see.

Just an “ambitious kid” who gets the hump when he’s not playing. We even had other players saying he was the hardest trainer and last off the training ground when he was here.

And this is my issue with some of the Edwards bollocks. We get coaches saying one thing (such as he has learning to do), and it gets twisted into he’s “a coaster with no humility and a shit attitude”.

We saw (and are still seeing) exactly the same with Bentaleb. He went from kid with great attitude to “over ambitious billy big bollocks troublemaker” without kicking a ball one summer, just because he asked for a pay rise to something like a quarter of what we are now paying Sissoko and Aurier.

A little bit Dele-esque that one. Obviously doesn't have Dele's pace but a nice run and good finish.

We've never seen anything remotely lick that for us from Amos. Maybe that was where we were going wrong because I'll be damned if he's going to be much cop as a ball winner/holding player.
