United fans having a moan about us having a 'home' tie. Taking my Spurs specs off, I do have some sympathy for that argument. Some of us would probably complain if the boot was on the other foot.

....by virtue of the fact we've played there more than them. Does that mean that every season prior to this they (and Chelsea) have had a huge advantage over us and we should have been whinging too? Afterall, they had played there more than us? I don't recall them whining when they thought Wembley would be a huge weight around our necks? ****s!

We have, however, been hoovering up Premier League points which has done far more for our future than the odd league or FA Cup trophy.

Don't get me wrong - I want to win those too but us beating Man U, Arsenal and drawing away to Liverpool and Juventus in the space of a few weeks says more about where we are as a team than anything else.

Just look at Arsenal - all those FA cups in the recent years and they're gagging to be in the position we are.
But what about Juventus at home? what does that tell us about where we are as a team?
It tells me that we're not quite there yet when it really counts in knockout games.
I'm condfident we'll get there eventually, but that was just over a week ago.

Yeah, that last sentence is true!

I see where you are coming from but it also could have been the wake up call that we needed. Maybe that will serve as a reminder to the squad that you can't have lapses of concentration in these types of matches. I'm of the opinion that we will use that loss as motivation to not make those same mistakes.

Id like to think so as well, but then why wasn't throwing away a two goal lead to West Ham in the league cup the wake up call?
Cant help but feel we are still very much a work in progress mate.

I can't argue too much with that analysis other than to assume (as I don't know for certain) that we weren't too bothered about that match as a club. You are correct though, the mentality should have been addressed at that point. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I still think Spurs will have learned from the Juve match and will be much better prepared. It's football though and anything can happen...a dodgy call, a worldie from out of nowhere, or anything of that sort so I'll still be on pins and needles.

Had the Wigan/Southampton game on yesterday, leading to the following exchange between me and my 12 yr old:

"Dad, where's Wigan"
"Up North, somewhere near Manchester"
"Is it a poor place"
"I don't know. Why?"
"Their fans look poor. In fact, they look like they all take drugs. You can see it in their faces..."

If we can't be optimistic when we've had 20 or so practise games at Wembley this season, then maybe the cups not for us

It's funny how schemhicial never made any of those mistakes when they win the league

#drugged

I watched a documentary about Adderall last night, makes me wonder if their entire squad develoloped ADHD that season (ie a significant amphetamine habit collectively).

If you are from Preston Janice, I think you are nothing like the Olympic stadium.

I agree that it give us a slight advantage, but we've been at a disadvantage being there all season so it balances out a bit.

I wonder how all of the fans will feel about this when Chelsea are in residence at Wembley for four years.

I'm sure that many will complain as they have done with us having it and plenty probably won't care either way. I suppose that the only regret I have and I guess that a lot of fans over a certain age will have is that Wembley, as a football venue, has lost its magic a bit over the years because it is used for so many footballing events.

We're better than both Chelsea and Man Utd. The only team two teams that could beat us are out.
Agree we're the best team in it but the best team doesnt always win as we saw against Juventus.
Man U and Chelsea are perfectly capable of beating us. Its just a matter of taking your chances. Both Man U and Chelsea have a very annoying habit of being outplayed, having only a few shots on target but scoring 2 or 3 goals.
We'll have to be at our best to beat either or both of them. I expect both.
Called it. Boll####

At this point I want Chelsea to win the cup. Mainly because fuck you Mourinho! Feel dirty wanting Chelsea to win anything though.
