That Chelsea goal to make it 2-0 that never crossed the line, still pisses me off.

I was also even more annoyed as I was in the Chelsea end and having to listen to all those smug wankers (that includes my mum who got the tickets and is a chelsea fan. Bitch)

Not only was it not a goal, and not only did match referee Martin Atkinson admit after the game that he made a mistake, but he recently confessed that the single, sole and solitary reason he made that mistake was because the Chelsea players wheeled away celebrating the goal so he thought they must have known the ball had crossed the line. It was such a vital moment in the game, we had been pushing for an equaliser, and their first goal was against the run of play. I think it acted as a bit of a reducer on our lot - and it was f*ck*ing disgusting. I defy anyone to try to defend such an idiotic decision!

For me the Arse, Pompey and first Chavs games were the worst. Arse because it was pure stupidity to sack Graham just before the match, Pompey because really we shouldn't have lost that one just because. Chavs because the scoreline betrays what was a mostly even performance for us. For these reasons I don't think our semis record represents either a "hoodoo" or us playing badly. Rather it's mostly coincidence.

Cheillini had it right. Need to change that.

Was also a ridiculous decision to allow our goal to stand rather than award a penalty and a Red card for the offence. We would have played a whole 45 minutes with a man advantage.

Indeed.
Another one of those games where the scoreline barely tells the full story.

In the 5-3 New Year game Cahill cut Rose in half as he scored (iirc, Danny couldn't celebrate as he was hurt). It was a straight red all day long and Cahill was already on a yellow, but nothing doing.

And then not long after that he bottled sending Chelsea's keeper off as well.

Any opposition fans saying we have an advantage should be asked to condor whether it's a bigger issue than the quarter finals being settled on the day is for the home team. That seems grossly unfair to me.

Yes, you're right! I forgot about the 5-1 hammering we took from Chelsea, so bad I erased it from my memory. I also couldn't remember the 0-1 loss to Arsenal but that's probably because I was still young and remembered the joy the year before. The Everton was the first one I really recall and that was humiliating.

Arsenal 92-93 - Lost 0-1
Everton 94/95 - Lost 1-4
Newcastle 98/99 - Lost 0-2 AET
Arsenal 00/01 - Lost 1-2
Portsmouth 09/10 - Lost 0-2 AET
Chelsea 11/12 - Lost 1-5
Chelsea 16/17 - Lost 2-4

Some absolute pathetic results and performances over the years. Let's hope these boys can erase all of that for us.

I remember the Everton one still clear as day. That was that fat shit black dude who got a hat trick. I forgotten his name
