My brother in law (not a football fan) is taking his wife's cousin (over from Germany) to a premier league match when they visit in April. Originally they were going to come to the Spurs/Watford game with me, but seeing as they moved that to a Monday, they've now said they'll go to see West Ham v Citeh instead.

I've told him that if his cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) is used to Bundesliga, then they'll be less than impressed sitting in the draughty expanses of Stratford, trying to avoid the local neanderthals fighting each other when the tiny blue players wallop the tiny claret players 6-0. Told him to go to Palace v Leicester instead. Better atmosphere, better game and easier to get to.

Unless of Course it's a historical Retro Thing... come see Football in England like it was in the 80's. I mean London is a great place for visiting historical past-times.

Rampant infighting aside, you do get most of the 80s experience going to Palace as well.

Now Baseball that's a decent game. You can keep NFL but seeing to teams in London would be good. However I don't think I could lower myself to go the the London Stadium

I went and saw the yankees when I was about 16. Found it incredibly dull.

If you don't really know what's going on then it's pretty boring, same goes for any sport though to be honest. You need to have at least some basic understanding of all the intricacies and strategies to appreciate what's happening. Much like going to see a film in a language you don't understand with no subtitles. It might be the best film ever but for you it'll be boring as hell because you can't follow what's going on.

Careful mate, I've previously annoyed all the Americans on here by being dismissive of their largely skill-less, boring sports.
I got negged into oblivion lol.

Only 'American' sports I like watching is basketball and ice hockey. The latter because of the fights.

American football stops every 5 seconds and baseball...well...is sill boys rounders.

Not sure I can criticise their boring sports as I like watching cricket, test matches in particular, and golf.

Test matches can be a bit dull, but there's a hell of a lot more skill involved than baseball, they even give the talentless fielders buckets to put on their hands because they can't catch....limited overs cricket is far from dull though.
Better get this thread back on track before the colonials get the hump!
