The video about the pitch says rails for the retractable pitch will be hidden safely beneath the NFL playing surface

Yeeeeeeeeah, but, how?

Well, I'm guessing here but, the whole of the football pitch is being being laid on huge metal trays so that it can be removed. Maybe they are laying the NFL pitch on a surface that can be moved sideways slightly to reveal the rails that are set underneath it in order to remove and return the football pitch.

I’d imagine one of the test events will be NFL based. Maybe open training session if that coincides with a gap in the regular season. Excuse my ignorance but I wouldn’t have a clue about NFL

I think the club would like to showcase the retractable pitch early

They could also do that by having a community event on the NFL surface. Pop concerts will also be on the plastic pitch but they would required the safety certificates to be granted first.

Am I right thinking I read that the pitch can be switched in half an hour? Why not have an exhibition football match in the morning, then an exhibition American Stupidball match after lunch?

I'd say its very unlikely that an NFL team stages a training session in the summer. The logistics alone would be a nightmare for a team to arrange. Plus, training camps for the NFL start with 80+ players, and they are fighting for 45 positions on the final roster. Players won't be happy about a reduced training time just going back and forth from America to London. It essentially would eat up a week's worth of training time getting to London and having a couple of training sessions, and then heading back. Neither teams, nor players really want that kind of distraction at that point of the season.

As i said football covered a wide range of sports.
Association football is just one version.

Yes bet we're clearly only talking about two types here...

Anyway, not the thread for this chat.

With all due respect to Ryan Mason also a terrible thing that happened to him but maybe we could do a charity match for Jimmy Greaves or Steve Perryman who I believe hasn’t been well.
Mason lived in an era of stupid wages whilst the other two could probably use the money more and are obviously Tottenham legends, I’d like to see Mason given a job as a coach though.

A charity match means the money goes to a charity not mason himself
