Sure would have been nice to go three in the back against Juve when we we're up in the second half..

He will be gone in the summer. Now let’s get over that. The only debate is do we buy another CB with the money or do we need to strengthen elsewhere. Me. I think Sanchez number one Dier and Foyth back ups. Maybe we also have another young CB on our books who will also be ready come the summer. I would like to see a young playmaker to rotate with Eriksen.

We pay around 50% of our turnover on player salaries, not dissimilar to Arsenal and the Man clubs. Only Chelsea and Liverpool pay much higher percentages (both high 60s). We can’t break that model as we don’t have a multi billionaire. Liverpool will be fucked.

But our turnover next season will be more then this season.

The difference is that we expect it to happen and it won't leave a gaping hole in our squad unlike previous seasons/
It does leave a hole imo 1 senior CB with two up and coming.

Maybe that’s why the rumours of Johnny Evans have started

I like Matt Law but he's having a bit of a chuckle with that article. Reads like an agent just emailed him a list of teams trying to hype up his player ahead of an almost certain relegation he doesn't want to be apart of. Even if Evans is on a list of targets I would wager he's on our if we don't get anyone else then we'll go for him because he'll do a job, not be too big a dropoff, and not pitch a fit everytime he's not selected... so in that case Welcome Jonny!? :ROFLMAO:

On his day, I think he’s our best defender. Maybe even the best in Europe, possibly the world. He has looked rusty playing since his injury, slow physically and mentally, but that will come back.

I, for the life of me, can’t see what he’s playing at. I’ve lost a lot of respect for him. We have a great squad, the best training ground, soon the best stadium, we have apparently offered him a very nice pay rise, but he’s still insisting on this release clause which leaves us high and dry. No wonder Poch doesn’t seem fussed about getting him back in the first 11.. It’s all a bit gutting, Walker (and Rose too actually) I could deal with cos he was a dumbass.. Literally no clue.. Toby, I thought, was better than that.

Serious (very) from Spanish giants and PSG I believe
I could see this working as a swap deal, madrid have a few players that supposedly getting shipped out and just happen to be our ex players. And psg have rabiot who we chased for a while and would be a perfect fit next to dembele.

You don’t show 100% commitment, then under Poch you are as good as gone.

Hopefully it’s all just lazy rumours and two plus two equals five.

If it is true though, shut your door on the way out Toby. Perhaps you’ll end up back at Southampton in a short while, or warming a bench at a big European club like when at Atletico?

Yet we haven't been beaten in the league since December and only juventus have beaten us since. Which shows we certainly can cope without him. It's a loss for certain and I'd much rather he stayed. But I'm not as worried as I was when we lost the likes of Modric and Bale.

Secondly, I don't think Toby had been close to his best last year. He had made quite a few errors which he didn't at all in his first season.

Agree, plus we look like having a real quality 3rd/4th choice in Foyth.

Sell Toby and promote Sanchez and Foyth effectively. Would like us to use the Toby money on Sancho and Sessegnon (or similar), would like a buy British summer, think Sancho will be HG if he comes back this summer (?).

Don't even think we need to buy another CB, Dier can step up IMO, if anything we need another CM.

All depends if the rumours of Dier wanting to a midfielder are really set in his mind.

Tbh it’s hard to imagine spending £50m on a CB when weve already got Sanchez vertonghen Dier foyth and davies if need be. Plus Ccv in wings and tanganga. Would be very hard to justify spending another £50m. Essentially Sanchez was alderweireld replacement and foyth replaced Wimmer.

Seems like it really is coming to an end then :(

A damn shame. Couldn't blame him if be wants to go to Madrid/Barcelona or if he just wanted to get a payday and goes to PSG.

Absolutely phenomenal player and one of my absolute favourite spurs defenders. I just pray we don't go for Jonny fucking Evans.
