Defensively, he was a great contributor that season. Offensively however, he didn’t really do all that much. He looked nice, but he didn’t really do much creation or disruption, and especially not consistently enough.

.
Rubbish!! If it wasnt for his long term injury I am sure we would have been the reigning English Premier League instead of Chelsea. Even without goals he offered so much with his industry, pressing eye for a pass etc. It was not his fault when he made very intelligent runs into spaces that he was not picked up more often. Your assessment so just so wrong

His injury really impacted us negatively, but we'll never know how much. If we have a Kane or Eriksen out for the best part of a season, then I could understand being sure that it would make a critically, substantial points difference to our season.

Alasdair Gold has a piece on Spurs contracts today says we have an option to extend Lamela's deal to 2020, so a further year on top of the one exercised. Good news but weird. It's like we are being compensated for his year out...

Got told last week at the Swansea game apparently since coming back he’s like a possessed man.

Hardest trainer furthest runner, hardest tackler. The lot this guy is on a mission

Needs to use his right more.

Since Kane and Eriksen have done this; their game has moved on and have become a lot more dangerous in the final third.

Dele is in the same boat as Lamela. I'm sure they both have the ability to do so.

Its not just this there have been many times people have said he is not that good. Why cant both go to the WC?

I don't know enough about Argentina's squad to know whoseplace he'd realistically take.

People not rating a player is not the same as hating him.

I think its a blind thing though, meaning its simply because he plays for West Ham. Lanzini is a very good player.

He's certainly talented. Haven't seen enough to see if he's a big fish in a small pond or a genuine player.

I think he is the real deal, I could post comparison stats with Lamela but I don't think it would go down to well with the natives. Scored his first goal for Argentina this week as well, would be very useful in our squad as he can play deeper or more attacking and be good cover for Eriksen.

Lamela doesn't fit Argentina's style imo. Lanzini does.
Lanzini can be a bit inconsistent but I rate him very highly. I'd love us to sign him. I think he'd flourish with Poch
I think yesterday's game increased Lanzini's chances of going to the WC a lot. Him and Lo Celso were particularly very good.
On top of that, Dybala is also out of the squad at the moment. So I don't see Lamela going to the WC tbh
