Couldn’t agree more & those left out don’t deserve to be picked. I’m pleased he’s not just selecting based upon who they play for.

But it’s odd to call up specialist centre halves then play Gomez on his opposite side & Walker out of position.

People just default criticise England whatever, it's so boring.

Southgate does the tried and tested- gets attacked for being boring and a yes man

Tries something different in a friendly- suddenly everyone's an expert who's knows it won't work and Southgate is stupid

Walker started as a RB, Southgate has been trying to find another ball playing CB to fit into his 3ATB, it's really not as outragous as some are making it out to be.

Quite liking the idea of Walker and Tripps on the pitch. But as someone said earlier you want Tripps to be getting balls to Kane

How do Liverpool fans watch Henderson week in week out and not slit their wrists? His lack of ability to play forward or go past players isn't even negated by good defensive ability.

I think it's quite a smart move by Southgate. None of our central defenders are as quick as Walker so why not give him a chance there to see if he can do a job if needed? I doubt he's thinking of starting him there, but it could mean that we need to take one less specialist centre back in the final squad.

I do hope Southgate doesn’t get too damaged this summer he is doing a good job.

Crisp passing to feet, a nice shape and some unfashionable players deserving of their place.
