He’s definitely a decent defender. Would be a good squad option at £3mill.

I’d also like to us to see us go in for Van Aanholt if Palace go down. Hed be a useful pace alternative to Davies if Rose goes.

He’s got an awesome shot on him, up there with Rose’s crossing... just put a screamer out for a throw in lol

I'll be very surprised if we don't end up with Shaw in place of Rose when the transfer window has closed. The move makes so much sense it's ridiculous.

I'd take Evans as a Toby replacement.

Experience that we might need and would allow Dier to be the main man at CB which i'm on board with.

He's 30 years old has 3 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups and over 5 years experience training and learning under Ferguson. For 3 million pounds, we'd be silly not to do the deal considering what he can bring to the team and the effect he can have on the younger CB's.

Evans is actually decent, and a good price at 3m, while Mawson is promising, but I'm not convinced. If we go for an English CB in the summer I would rather Lascelles than anyone else in this league.

I would rather go with a left side centre back in Mawson. It makes up better balanced when we give Vertonghen a rest. Mawson can step straight in and is comfortable at left centre half. Whereby Foyth, Davidson or Dier is less than comfortable playing on the left centre back.

Personally think Alfie Mawson is the best fit should Toby leave.

Homegrown.
Underratedly good with the ball - decent at the Toby style long ball as well.
Experienced playing in a back 3.
Seems to play much better when his team plays on the front foot. He's looked very good since Carvalhal took over and has implemented a better approach to playing.

Him. Sessegnon and a good attacking CM and I'd be very happy.

He might be a good fit but according to Herc they were asking for 40m plus and we think better value elsewhere.

Mawson and Sessegnon would be the best part of £100m

£100m to stand still. Transfer fees are crazy!

Sessegnon clearly has something, but I’d be absolutely shocked if he turned in to the next Gareth Bale. Mawson? Change the M for a D and that’s the level we are talking about imo(y)

Apart from the fact Shaw is a crock and a very questionable attitude? I think he is incredibly overrated.

Shaw’s got way too many issues to be a worthy signing. I’d much rather go for Tierney. What’s concerning however is we’ve gone from risking losing Rose for silly money to looking at him and thinking he’s gone from the best left back in the EPL to a shadow of his former self. His attacking ability has always been questionable but last night for England he was damn right awful going forward... he has zero composure.

Mawson is OK but just that.

He might turn out to be decent but yet to be convinced he's anything other than flavour of the month at the moment.

I wouldn't have minded him last season for a reasonable fee but now they'll want at least £30m which for me would be a silly gamble.

Maybe, but he's also 22 years old and has everything to prove. He played his best football under Poch and there's no manager in world football who Shaw respects more than him. If anybody can put their arm around him and get him playing back to his best, it's Pochettino.

When you factor in our need for a second left back option and our leverage (less so now but still there IMO) with Rose, it's about as obvious a transfer as I've seen. We're the perfect landing spot for him.
