Just cannot see Viera getting the job....Wenger will have a huge say in who replaces him I reckon and he stated recently that he didn't think Patrick was quite ready. Undoubtedly a decision has already been made and possibly an announcement soon would smooth the transition.....Love to see Sol Campbell though.....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The report is that he's 'stepping down', that to me sounds like he's staying in a different capacity. If so, I would imagine he'll have major input as to who the next manager is.

Now he’s announced he’s leaving I hope their fans treat him with the respect, admiration and unconditional gratitude he deserves from them.

Many of them won’t, of course.

Sad to see him go in many ways; a genuine Premier League legend who always came across as a thoroughly decent bloke. We only hated him for so many years because they were simply a class above us for so long.
Nothing to do with his continual lying that he didn't see anything, backing his players in cheating and being an arrogant prick at post match press conferences!

That’s actually well played by him. No more venom from the crowd cos they know he’s going, he could end up with the Europa league, which would be an amazing way to leave, but even if they lose embarrassingly the fans won’t moan because they know he’s going.

Good post...I strongly suspect it's the latter....if they lose then there's no more "Wenger Out" chants and the guy goes quietly....it's a win/win situation for him....cleverly timed move. :sneaky:(y)

Interesting that Wenger does not say he is retiring, Could easily see him going back to Japan or managing elsewhere in Asia.

What's all the fuss about Tuchel anyway?
One German Cup to his name.
Redknapp has an FA Cup victory - maybe they should go for him...

At least if Vieira were to get it Campbell couldn't claim racism as the reason he didn't get it.

It might take them a couple of years but no one can deny that this is bad news for us. Anyone that thinks Arsenal are going away are deluded. I can see us being neck and neck for the next 20 years.

Im amazed he’s going. I thought he’d stay on, I really did.

Got a feeling they will struggle to get the top level managers around because of their squad. Mind you I guess we will now see if their players are actually good or if it’s because they aren’t coached/trained/managed properly.

There really is no outstanding candidate. Nobody that makes me quake in my boots. They really missed the boat on pep and Klopp. Ancelloti I guess but he feels very tired and short term. Wouldn’t be surprised if conte left chelsea and went there if they gave him spending assurances. Conte going there would be a massive worry.

True, but the same happened with Man United. We as a club are in a much better position now to still compete with them even at their peak. If this happened before our new stadium and 10 years ago, it would've been worse.
