Eden Hazard on the BBC just now:
“No we want to finish in the top four and win the FA Cup that’s the target.”

Winners want to win. Winners win
. Top four and an FA Cup/League Cup should have been our minimum goal.

I can rattle off names from our teams that have won the FA Cup - Tait-01, Dimmock-21, Smith-61, Greaves-62, Robertson-67, Villa-81, Roberts-82 and Stewart-91. Same with the League Cup, UEFA, ECWC, 51 and 61 teams title teams, even the promotion winning team. Sad I know. Point being, I want to be able to recall players who have won things for Tottenham Hotspur and not just good players who wore the Lilywhite shirt.
You seem to ignore that they have meekly surrendered their title for the second time in three seasons.

It did seem like that and I was watching the team at certain points when we were 2-1 down and there was so little movement from the forward players. You look at that and then City in that situation, you'd have Silva desperate to get on the ball and try something, De Bruyne desperate to get on the ball and do something, Aguero running around the front line trying to find an opening, Sterling buzzing around looking for space and Sane hugging the touchline, staying as wide as possible as an outlet. Just a lot more activity that I think they show.

I don't think there'll be any sort of mass exodus though, but I do think the players will want to see big investment in the summer. The players who have been here a few years already will not want to face heartbreak again next season with no real standout investment being made in the team to really try and prevent that. I guess there's only so many times when you can face repeatedly being 2nd,3rd or 4th best without winning anything knowing that you can go somewhere with more a chance of wining trophies and probably double the wages.
And even when Dele or Son made a run, it wasn't spotted........

I don't think the Chelsea players gave up the way they did for Mourinho in his last season second time around. They like Conte and are still playing for him. I just think the issues with them are above his head and the players they lost and did not replace.

They will settle for Top 4 and winning the FA Cup. We are settling for the Top 4. Therein lies the difference.

Eh? Where are you getting the idea of Spurs being happy that Spurs being content with merely settling for top four

You're not the first person to do this but you're desperately trying to push a narrative that isn't there, it's a load of nonsense, there's so much shit being spouted by people since we lost yesterday and it's grating.

Does anyone really think that Poch and the players won't be fucking gutted after yesterday? They are professional athletes and they hate losing. I'm not a professional athlete but I race motorbikes at club level and fucking hate losing. I used to swim for Gloucestershire as a junior and I fucking hated losing. Dele's interview showed how gutted they are.

What will really fkin sting for them is that they know, like most of us fans, that they are the better team. Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal were out. Such an opportunity wasted. Gonna sting for a while this one.
I just hope we come out flying next game and fkin batter Watford. Take it out on them and stick the knife into Chelsea and worry the shit out of Liverpool in the process.

Whatever failings Poch and this squad have, no one can doubt that this is a Tottenham side that puts it all in every week, and gives a shit. I’ve seen Spurs sides who coast along, phoning it in, and I hope I never have to see it again.

If we come out against Watford like we did yesterday then we'll smash them into next week. 3 or 4 by half time.

You don't get to that level by brushing off defeats.

I understand your sentiment, but don't feel I am pushing a narrative. That would be the idea that we are Spursy or legends when we have been anything but in recent years. The SF loss to Portsmouth was Spursy as was the cup final loss to Blackburn. In other situations we have lost to heavily financed teams. The Leicester year, the title was never ours to lose.

I think there have been many examples of quotes from MP this year about the top four and the Champions League being a priority and I am sure Levy and Lewis feel the same way. I just think he could have spoken about winning the Cup and qualifying for the CL in the same tone. He needs to win a trophy as a manager and we need to win one as a club.

The performance yesterday wasn't great once United scored. We can talk about our start, but a game is 90 minutes not 15-20 and we have not turned in many good performances recently. If we lost playing well I could take it. If we lost battering United's goal and being devastated at going out I could take it. But when we go out without having a real go then I have the right to be frustrated.

Working with Arsenal and Liverpool fans winding me up doesn't help my mood either.

Interesting in the piece on the official site from Dele, it says after Herera scored their second the game became stop start and we couldn't build any fluency! That is a lesson to learn, that wasn't coincidence or accident, that is a Mourinho team doing what it does best.

I'm still gutted about this, pretty unusual for me. When dele scored that opener I was so happy, I think with all the sunshine it had made me really optimistic.

I never expected to win tbh. I celebrated like mad and tried to get the songs going, none the less.

Again it’s typical of our press in how they like to build something up and then knock it down.

It’s actually an achievement we have gotten to so many successive semi finals but seems like people are waiting for us to lose so they can ignorantly throw around words like legends again.

We lost against Manchester United who are second in league and managed by Mourinho who knows a few things abou winning cups.

Also interesting to see how many arsenal fans have been bursting blood vessels in their delight in our loss.

In fact arsenal fans in general spend a lot of time on social media talking about us far more than we bother talking about them.

They’re always all over spurs pages, which is weird as i wouldn’t be joinin arsenal pages to comment about them.

The thing that makes me smile is that for all this talk of arsenal in decline and how they are going backwards whilst we move forwards, they have won 3 cups in the last 4 years and probably might go and win the EL as a send off to Wenger yet they are not at the level they were amazing.

Perhaps that's the trade off then, league position for cup wins you can't have both any more.

Am I the only one still fuming about Saturday, especially how we crumbled after the equaliser? 3 days on from the defeat and it’s still cutting deep.
