Just no more shite!

No more N'shites, ben stamboulis, Vincents, sissokos etc

Gotta aim for the highest of quality if we are in the CL again. These cost big money. Shopping at West Bromwich high street is just a recipe for more "bottling" next season

Kane, Dele, eriksen, Dembele, and because of exile our defense is so comfortable. There's nothing on the bench to challenge them, to force them to improve

Players who can "do a job" should be that of youth players like winks, onomah, carter Vickers etc

We can't bring in players of the highest quality for two reasons one because we can't afford them and second the wages which again will be an issue.
As for the young players will onomah and CCV ever be at the level we need it's romantic to think so but not realistic, we should aim for better and more experienced quality but that is the best we can pitch for right now.

No we can't keep churning out that excuse anymore. Constantly in champions league, high league table finishes , largest stadium in the country this season, 2nd largest next season

We can at least match the likes of pool instead of scrounging around the relegation bargain bins and collecting who's contract is nearly up coupons

Would be funny if they did and Millwall come up through the play offs. Not that I want to see Millwall in the Prem but still funny from a Wham POV
Nah. They need to be in the same division. The world needs the entertainment of a televised Millwall/West Ham match at the OS with a few tv cameras on the crowd

The Sanchez signing would suggest that 40m is hardly shopping at Lidl but yes being in a similar ball park to Liverpool would certainly help us, but then that's what a 62,000 seater stadium with London prices will help us do bridge the gap.

Really bums me out when I think last year we had arguably the two best CB's, best left back and best right back in the Prem. Now next year looks like only one of those players will be a key member of that same group.

Have you seen Ndombele from Lyon? He looks fucking good and is on loan there from a much smaller French side - if we can somehow get in there quickly before Lyon, he'd be a brilliant signing and would redeem the shite N'signings....

And maybe he does, it's possible. I was laughing more at the very matter factly way he had Arsenal winning the Europa tbh. And then at the way because we beat Madrid Pool were nailed on.

Final post on this subject.

I believe that Arsenal are the best team remaining in the Europa League. I think they will show that against Atletico over two legs.

We, among a number of teams have shown that Madrid, while still an impressive side are not as good as last seaon, or the season before last.

Klopps tactics are, in my view perfect for european ties.

If you can so convincingly overcome, what in my view is the best footballing side in the world (Man City), I`d absolutely fancy you against either Real Madrid or Bayern.

I strongly believe that both clubs will win their respective competitions.

Either way, time will tell.

I wouldn’t mind letting Son be the experienced back-up to Kane.
Go in for that kid from Hamburg who idolises Kane (and Holtby apparently...) and get another pacey winger.

Or Jay Rodriguez :bored:

PLUS, as a replacement for Dembele, you couldn't get in a more apt replacement at Spurs.

We're not competing with united either , last 3 years:

Fa cup
League cup
Europa league cup
Community shield
And another fa cup final

Us? Not even a peace cup or even a cup final period, in the same time frame

This is the thing that no-one really seems to like to confront...

In theory we are further along in our development as a squad than either United of Liverpool as both have changed managers more recently. United in particular have more star quality than we do.

I was thinking that what helps us in trying to get closer to City and United is that even if they spend a lot of money it will be very difficult to improve their squads at all City in particular.

For that reason if I was Pep or Mourinho I would be focussing my transfer strategy on signing players off ourselves and/or Arsenal, that way weakening the competition. City knew exactly what they were doing last year and it worked a treat. City felt we would be a threat to them so cannily wanted Kyle Walker over any other player as not only would it strengthen them, it was also weaken and destabilise us.

I expect that this summer City and United will both battle to sign Toby and that United will go for Dier. I hope I'm wrong but it wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho got both.

This summer we have to stand strong, keep our players, improve our weak areas and add one or two who either have the experience of winning things, or that sheer star quality which enables them to score goals out of nothing to win games.

I have no worries what so ever about this summer with players leaving. Bar Toby I wouldn't be bothering to watch what my rivals were doing or listen to what they are saying.

Get on and do the business that Poch wants and the rest will take care of itself.

Think the ‘we can’t compete for transfers or wages goes out the window’ as soon as levy charges the highest ticket prices in the league. No more excuses on that front this summer. Give poch the tools.

On reflection we really don’t need that much but what we do need is essential. 2 quality additions in CM and a martial type that could back up striker or in the 3 behind. Those 2 additions could really push us up another level imo. If we do get that CM which we almost certainly will one of dembele or sissoko will have to go assuming winks comes back to fitness. After that it’s just replacing any outgoing. Imagine the difference to our squad if you replace Llorente/ martial and sissoko/Pogba (at his best). Suddenly we are serious title contenders imo.

I agree here. Centre mids and a versatile forward have to be our top priority. We need at least one new class CM regardless if Dembele stays or not, and if he goes, two quality CMs IMO. Offload Sissoko, Janssen, Llorente, and Nkoudou to help free up funds. I felt better about Sissy this season, but I think he's proven that he still doesn't have the quality and technical ability needed for our style of football and more importantly a club with PL and CL title aspirations. Obviously Pogba is unrealistic but Ndombele, Kovacic, Diawara, and Aouar are massive talents that we should be able to snatch up. For forwards, Martial would be a fantastic marquee signing.

I honestly believe we need to fix 4 areas in the squad:

- Both full back positions (Sessengon and one of Kimmich or Hysaj)
- Toby Replacement (De Ligt or Vestergaard)
- Moussa heir (Mahmoud Dahoud or Roberto Gagliardini
- Kane plan B (Alassane Plea or Mariano or Fekir)

5 new in's is not unfeasible :)

Sell Rose, Toby, Llorente and one of Tripps / Aurier, we could about right for the reported £100m estimated TFR spend as we enter into the new stadium)

J Rod has never impressed me, wouldn’t think he would add anything to our squad.

Arnautovic at a push, but playing second fiddle doesn’t motivate him, so that’d be a no too.

Martial would be perfect, he can play with Kane, without Kane, and any position across the attacking ones, but Man Utd won’t sell to us unless we play ball on one of our untouchables.

Zaha is becoming more interesting for me, his pace and hard work would does us very well indeed.

Still hoping, in the very back of my mind, that Bale and Modric will come back. And I still want Kovacic, perfect fit.

Why do you even bother putting Kimmich on here?
