then get the replacements in of similar quality for our departing Belgians, and get them used to it as well.

Happy with JG though, think he could surprise a few- cheers Herc
Doubt that will be as easy. Villa are in desperate need of money for starters. To replace the other two going to cost a fourtune. Not that I disagree with you, would love them in already in an ideal world.

Can’t play that card about Villa’s money woes. If so, in for a very sad and long wait. Heads up peeps. They are not budging from their price. Now terms; there may be more flexibility...

I imagine that transfer business isn't quite as simple as transferring a lump of cash into the selling club's bank account, so you could imagine Villa selling Grealish as a part of long-term plan related to their finances but not to deal with any immediate issues they may have.

Or a long and happy wait if you're not convinced that Grealish would be a good signing for Spurs... :)

Sooo, a guess at Herc’s post, they’d be flexible to 5 x £5mill payments over 5 years, with add ons that are performance related?

How big is Villa's tax bill supposed to be? I presume they want at least that much in immediately as any loan they had to take out to cover that is only going to be a further drain on their resources. Even if they didn't go through QuickQuid I somehow doubt they got a favourable APR!

Call me a naysayer, but it's pretty depressing to see us labour to sign a Championship player from a broke Championship club.

Bodes well for our pursuit of Martial.

Nah, it was the fag burning that did it. I’m well in to the Zodiac case. Hahaha.. I’m just guessing what Herc could be getting at.
I think more often than not Herc means exactly what he says even if we struggle to interpret. Probably just saying chill out, relax, it is in good hands and should work out but may not be so easy.

They apparently spent £88 million on new signings in 2016 trying to buy their way back up to the Premier League, wages and therefore taxes accruing monthly would have been substantial in relation to revenue

With the funds not coming from China there was a hefty shortfall and the failed promotion meant the gamble to get to the promised land of Sky money was a double blow. If they had made it the PL/Sky income for first year back in the PL would have been almost £100 million alone.

Isn't that the same scenario we had when Newcastle got relegated?

Like it or not villa are probably aware that they might never get another player of his quality thru the ranks, and certainly can't afford a player of his ilk any time soon.

What you pay for a player is based somewhat on their value to their current club, nothing else.
