Marca have also mentioned Man city are interested. .... Sounds like it will be gomes for us.
Pretty sure linking a player to one of the Mancs comes as part of the transfer article starter pack. Don't even have to type it in, the system adds it for you.

How is this twisting the article?

Tweet: "#thfc have made contact with Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic about a potential summer transfer."

Article: "What's more, his desire to move on works in the favour of his suitors, some of whom have already made contact with his camp over a potential summer switch. As many as five clubs are thought to have come calling so far: Roma, Inter Milan, Juventus, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur."
I definitely wouldn't call it clickbait but on the other hand it's nothing to get excited about either.

Modric was his childhood hero so can only hope he have some feelings for Spurs after watching him play here. I would rate this optimistic myself :(

There are conflicting reports about his release clause. Some are saying it's 50m but others are saying he signed a new contract and his release clause is 300m or something.

If it's true his release clause is 50m then there would be a lot of clubs bigger than us who would be after him and we would be quite lower in the que.

If you've deemed good enough, then there is always a way of integrating you into any team, and even one that dominates the world stage like Croatia!

Worked beautifully with Lampard and Gerrard didn't it...

He wants to leave Madrid to get more playing time...moving to another "big" club won't help him with that. Tottenham seems to represent a good balance between big club and available playing time.

Surely any other big club buying him for big money will play him? Madrid is a bit of an exception in that regard.

Apparently, Spanish contracts require a release clause. RM set it at 300m just to keep teams from activating it. If they decide to sell, the negotiated fee would be much less.

El confidencial who have been very spot on especially about madrid related news in the last 2-3 yrs have said us and inter are the most interested parties and it would take 50m+ for Madrid to consider a move.

If we can shift Dembele to China for £25m+ maybe we could get in the £50m range for Kovacic. I do wonder if the interest is real though.

Martial £60m, Kovacic £50m, Grealish £20m, keep Toby or use windfall to fund De Ligt = Dream window

Feel Martial would be around 65-75m considering how reluctant utd are to sell him to us.

Don’t think there’s any way we keep Toby and get Martial - but I’d take the swap (plus some cash their way). I can’t see us getting him at all, but he’d be my dream signing (Bale aside, of course). Kovacic or Ndombele and the others you list and I’d be loving life.

Totally, I'd love it to be Bale instead :ROFLMAO:
