I'm going to give a mini round-up of what I know as there is a lot of rubbish being posted by the media and on social media.
In June spurs contacted villa. A fee around 25 million was informally discussed and suggested by Villa but NO fee or anything was agreed on. Tottenham were given permission to talk to Jack. Deal with Jack was agreed in principal. Over to his agent. His agent has been in regular contact with both Tottenham and Villa providing updates. Its his job to broker the deal. Last month Tottenham's original offer was around 18 million with add ins up to 25.
Everyone including Steve was aware that he would be off. An agreement was had at 22million plus add ons. I wont bore you with the ins and outs of the add ins.
Player contracts done. Agreement in place with Villa hierarchy.
Just waiting on green light. On Monday I think I posted about Levy wanting to wait until August. That was Levys decision again something to do with financial structure.
On Monday at 10:24 (Yes exact time) tottenham called it through.
A discussion was had and it was agreed that Jack would play against Hull as preparations had been made.
On Tuesday the story hit the media that a 25 million deal had finally been agreed.
The paperwork was done, just needed to be signed off by the owners.
The new owners rebuffed and said they don't want to sell ......
With all due respect to the owners they like many non football people do not understand the FFP rules. As a result villa have also had to wait and have lost out on players because they have no money.
The agent is still trying to push the deal through. Only contact atm is through him. I think Jack will put a transfer request in. He is desperate to play for England and see MP as the man to get him there.
The problem is rich non footballing men not understanding trying to show their power. But they need to understand for villas sake too.

I wonder if one is still Grealish.

Not sure now. His people are still hopeful but it's now a waiting game as far as they are concerned. Agent wants him to exert more pressure Jack has been reluctant to do so. Desperately wants to move, but he and his entire family are Villa fans, most of them season ticket holders. It's very delicately balanced to say the least.

Am hearing similar to Breezer that we'd still like up to 3, but Grealish apart I can only see them being revisited players/back up's to back up's, or more likely opportunistic buys. There are certainly some decent ones being pushed around by agents though so hopefully that is the way we end up going. Toby looking less likely to stay in England which (IMO) would almost certainly rule out Martial coming the other way. But if both clubs become desperate late on then who knows.........l.

I don't expect to hear too much today, as my guys are usually flat out busy on deadline day. Obviously if I do get anything I will update. I honestly wouldn't be surprised at any outcome today. Literally anything could happen.

Good luck and hope you all make it through to the other side.

Morning all, I’m hoping Sir Levy Of Tottenham is mounting his good steed and setting off with the ‘Wheelbarrow Of Joy’ into battle. I’m going to miss most of the fun driving from bloody Padstow to Cheltenham but hope something pops up last minute. Thanks A+C and others for all you do, donation coming when I’m paid this month.

9 hours to go. Best case I see Grealish signing and Dele,Eriksen deal announced. Worst case- no signing and Dele , Eriksen deal announced

I will just add.....

Don't believe everything you see on Sky or hear on talksport today. I can assure you a lot of it especially early on on deadline day is sensationalised, and is purely there to keep you hooked. Jim White two years ago was called by the agent of one of our players telling him he was 100% staying,. Jim(on talksport) then held that information up for nearly 2 hours and continued whoring our player out, before breaking the news just before his show ended.

Toby going abroad would be a win, in my opinion. Don't believe Martial was ever anything more than a pipe dream, so to keep Toby out of Man Utd is great news.

Need to strategically place my phone on my desk in a way it's readable but not blatantly obvious to the manager that I'm not working.

Can't bear to wait until lunch for a refresh.
I'm in a similar situation.

Not sure whether to avoid all news/SC until 5pm and be disappointed.

Or sneakily check my phone at work every 5 minutes until 5pm and be disappointed.

Sad then that our main targets fell through if I am reading that right. Thanks for the info.

Brilliant updates this morning from @Trix and the Journo. Clearly showing the finer and constant moving parts , and BS, of transfers in 2018.
Thanks both.
