If we keep Toby, and he's back playing in a committed way for us, I'll take that right now, and shut the window, thanks very much.

I'm surprised Levy ain't sold no one from the back end of the team - Imagine his face with a net profit from the transfer window!

"I am happy to keep all the squad together, there were many rumours during the summer about players out," the Spurs boss said.
"The club made a massive effort to try and extend contracts of Harry Kane, just one example. The club is trying to finish the stadium as soon as possible.
"It is difficult to understand for people in football that Tottenham didn’t sign or didn’t sell players but sometimes in football, you need to behave different.
"We are happy with our squad and we cannot improve our squad. It is better to keep our squad all together, we believe a lot in our players."

There you go...Poch is as happy as Larry!
That's not good - Larry's already on the QE2 bridge attached to a breeze-block!

Toby is better than Martial in their relative positions.
We are thinner in numbers in CB than WF.
Toby's replacement is Foyth, Martial's "replacement" is Son.
Toby is a proven top 3 PL defender, Martial is a good work in progress.
"Much younger" isn't particularly relevant when Toby is only a 29 year old CB.
We splash 20-50m cash that is 20-50m less we can spend on another player (a full Grealish for example). Grealish and Toby or just Martial?

But Martial will be a SIGNING FUCK YEAH WOO  who cares about the repercussions

Toby has played about 3 games for us since Christmas, and his established replacement in the starting XI is Davinson Sanchez. The backups are Dier, Foyth and CCV.

Happy to assist.

We've basically signed Wanyama, Alderweireld, Lamela, Moura, Rose and Winks for next season.

"It's difficult to understand for people that Tottenham didn't sign or sell players, but sometimes in football you need to behave differently. If we are happy with our squad and cannot improve it, sometimes it's better to keep our squad together."
If that was the plan then why was Poch only last week taking about how many players we may sign ? Signing nobody wasn’t the plan, this is all just ex-post rationalisation as usual.

Patiently waiting for A&C’s Levy is a **** thread to open.

If Toby not sold today, he will not be available. Apparently settled his differences with Poch and club. Let’s see...

Him staying and being fit and focused would actually be great. Let’s hooe he signs a new contract soon.

Remains to be seen. Just because they've signed players it doesnt have to mean they will be stronger. Look at Morata. Big money move and they were better off with sulking Diego Costa (so far)

"Some signings don't work out" is not a justification for not making any, jesus.

Bar maybe Grealish, I don’t think we were ever seriously in for any of those ‘expansive’ players. We have had no strategy or idea what we are doing in this window.

I think we have had a strategy , but i don't think the club have made it clear to the fans what it is, which is odd, because poch mentioned that they should in his end of season conference.

" It's so important to have a strategy to explain, to show of course, the club is going to be ambitions, but sometimes we need to operate in a different ways to others. The fans need to know what we are going to do, the fans need to feel the reality of the club and we need to tell the truth and create an expectation that we can achieve. You cannot create dreams, thinking that we are not going to achieve them. We need to create dreams that will be possible to achieve. Of course the ambition of the club will be to win. Now maybe we are a little bit disappointed and frustrated because now we are close. But that is the first step, to be close, challenge the big sides, the sides that invest more than us and we need to try to find a way.

We cannot think that we are the most clever people in the world because we are going to win trophies, spend money. We need to think that our reality is different and our fans need to think and be happy and support us because we are not this type of club that is going to invest crazy money"

The club's communication needs to be clearer.
I think we planned to ship rose/dembele/Toby out using swap deals and paying small fees on top (Rose/sessegnon, Toby/martial, dembele money for grealish)

Actually surprised we brought no young talent in really.

"We must stop jumping the gun and critcising Levy, wait and see what happens by the end of the window. If we haven't signed anyone by the end of the window then we'll all be sticking the boot in on Levy"

~ people who are now predictably defending Levy like they have done all bastard window
Meh, I never said I'd stick the boot in, no matter how predictable I am in defending him now. Frankly, he has amassed more than enough goodwill with me, this poor window doesn't tip the scales as far as I'm concerned. I stuck the boot in when he sacked Hoddle. I stuck the boot in when we were left with Frazier Campbell. This? Naaa, never thought I'd stick the boot in over a bad window. That's not to say I'm not disappointed, I am, but that's why at times like these I choose to see the bigger picture rather than throw my toys out.

If Toby doesn’t go then it means we haven’t bent over for Man Utd. That’s significant after selling Walker to Man City last summer. It’s the only positive I can take from this window except for the new contracts announced in public.

I think that's already kicked off in Spurs Chat.

I'm not saying we shouldnt sign anyone, but the fact is even if other teams signed players, they might her stronger but they don't have to.

Right. This window hasn’t fucked English teams plans. It’s fucked Levy’s plan. Which is always sell to buy.

And now been exposed about as clearly as possible - too much money about for clubs to blink re our low ball offers vs what others are paying anymore - the riches of the EPL have taken that away

And too many average squad players Levy trying to make a turn on

Oh wait but he went to Cambridge - he’s so clever!

We did have itk earlier in the month that the only way he stays is if he signs a new contract.

He is given little choice but to play the PR game - he's not Mourinho, he's not going to slag anyone at the club off.

The PR game for a preference he made clear over a year in advance in the Ballague interviews, and the club before that, and the one before that....?

Don’t know why you guys are upset. It’s been a great summer for the value of the club. Will probably announce stadium sponsorship in a day or two as well!

I certainly won't be on the Levy out campaign trail but I think the reaction to this window is perfectly understandable, it's been managed wrong and I'm waiting till 5 to vent my full frustration
