No. I don't.

For starters, I'm not one for internet gossip. You can buy into if you like, but it's all far too removed from the truth for my liking. Until Poch states on the record that the club no longer respects him or broke promises, I'll assume it's all nonsense and guess work.

As for the top four, of course it will be a challenge. It always is. But I have a little bit more faith in our squad and our manager than I guess you do. Even with no additions (and, so far, no losses), I still believe we are better than Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, and not far behind United, who could yet lose Pogba.

The return of Toby, Rose and Winks - all fully fit and committed to the cause - will be like three new signings.

Poch is a classy guy, he's not going to pull a Jose and cry to the press about signings.

We have a strong starting 11, but we all knew it needed more depth, we have a number of injury concerns and half our starting 11 went deep into the W/C.

All the teams you've mentioned have improved their team/squad, we limped over the line last season despite finishing 3rd and those teams will pick up more points this season than last.

Poch saying about players who aren’t starting games pulling their weight, being professional and try and get in the team. He’s obviously talking about Rose and Alderweireld. I just hope he doesn’t have to deal with them rocking the boat behind the scenes.
On the plus side, as far as Rose is concerned, he has been spared the effort of having to google players.

Safe to say, based on Herc's latest post, that the Pochy no happy.
Honestly then - its up to the supporters to make him feel loved.

My biggest worry is that if Spurs get off to a slow start, that things get toxic around the team. Its one thing to be frustrated with Levy - its quite another to make the players and manager feel that frustration.

There has been a lot of movement this window, though.

City had the best squad by far, but still strengthen with Mahrez, and added a few young talents.
Liverpool strengthened not just with a goalie and Keita, but brought in Fabinho (who's a great player), and added options with getting Shaqiri (who's done well for them in preseason).

I find it strange that Spurs didn't even find a few young talents. We seem to have stopped signing young talents, even when that is a key part of our football plan.

I know what you mean, I’m just saying, to add a little perspective that although they have done slightly better than us, no one has done that much or signed anyone I’m genuinely scared about, it has been an odd window for most teams.

I’m not worried about what the smaller clubs have spent as it’s a lot easier to sign players for mid table teams by throwing premier league wages at good to average players in the hope 1 or 2 turn out to be great. To sign tier 1 players that improve our team is a lot harder.

Mahrez is a great player but even City have failed to bring in the extra midfielder I think they wanted & it took them 2 windows to get him.

I’ve not seen enough of Fabinho to comment but they did loose Can so I guess I see that as 1 in 1 out until proven otherwise plus AOC is out for the season. No one was keen when we were linked with Shaqiri although I agree it is a low risk cheap punt for them as cover.

I think we agree on the young talents. I guess JG would have been seen as this a couple of years ago but at £25 mil plus (a championship player would have been 8-15mil in the past) we waited to see if we could find better instead of taking the punt anyway and missed out.

"We're 25 players all fighting to help the team. That's the most important – the commitment. But as I said before: not for one day, not for one week, not for one month. Today at 5pm, it's the end of the transfer window and we need players with full commitment until the transfer window opens," he said.

"If after one month, we have players who give up, are difficult to manage, it's difficult to create a good atmosphere in the training sessions. Look, I was open to fixing it if some player is not happy at the club... we are open to finding the solution. But if they choose to stay here with us, they need to behave the way we want. Being professional means that."

Does Poch strike you as someone who would stick around if he isnt backed?
For the fucking bunce he is earning he probably grin til the cows come home. The man has more class in him than our last three managers put together. He is as sharp as a tack to boot.

Like I said, be angry, I'm angry at how this window has developed but seriously, being this OTT ... Hard pass, yeah?

He'll be gone next summer, if not before then:cry:
Depends on what was agreed with Levy. On the surface, from the outside looking in, it sure seems that Poch got hoodwinked by Daniel. And if that is the case, it'll have a disastrous long term implication. I truly hope for the sake of the fans that Poch was the one thay kiboshed potential deals, as opposed to Levy being too frugal.

The window has been positive in th sense that we haven't lost any of our star players. But its also a travesty, as we have this unique window to do something special to augment a once in a generation squad. Instead we've ended empty handed.

Now is time for finger crossing. Hoping that Poch doesn't feel let down at best, betrayed at worse.

It's actually so depressing to to increase the season tickets in the manner they have and to get this. Before anyone points out, yes I'm aware our season tickets are not going to get us martial, but it still sticks in the throat.

Have to assume that's aimed at Rose and/or Toby

So... we can assume the Poch leaving stuff is just guff then?

Also, all of the clubs we're competing with had players at the World Cup. Why assume ours will have suffered more?

And new signings don't always equate to improvement. We'll find out soon enough just how good they really are, and whether than can cut it in the PL. Plenty come and shine, but plenty come and fail too.

You don't think he'll be gone? Poch has a history of leaving clubs that don't respect him or break promises. We have a strong first 11 but most are only just coming back from the W/C, we'll struggle to get top 4 this season. It would be an absolute miracle if we managed it.
That last bit is like de javu from last year.

Pretty stark unless it's one of the others who were being mooted for transfer that we haven't heard much on, but I'd agree, Toby and or Rose are at the top of the list.

He doesn't mince his words too often.
