Ergh,

I watched the United match on my phone on a date with the wife (afternoon tea, think it was an early KO that day)

She wan't happy but let it go as I tried to explain to her that afternoon tea is shit and it's for ponces.

I think the key for us is what's in the players heads, we seem to look beaten from kickoff. If Poch can instill it into their heads that Man Ure are very beatable and instill confidence in them then we should be ok, but the mental side of football is a very difficult thing to get right.

Honestly in the games we've played them under Poch I don't think we've lacked for belief. We know we can beat them. For me it's more about Poch being a bit more savvy with the tactics away-from-home, maybe soak up some pressure for the first 30 and look to hit them on the counter. People are quoting the Chelsea game, but really they should have been out of sight by half time. Hopefully Poch has learned his lesson.

Arsenal last season Kane wasn't fit he's just come back from Injury and for the Utd game he was Injured and missed the match, I don't know who was expecting us to win those matches but they were misguided.

No everyone was on about us thrashing United. It was all the press could talk about.

I call Bullshit. You sat there like the well trained husband you are, enjoying your tea and cucumber sandwiches and sneaked occasional glances at your phone. C'mon fess up.

That's not far from what I said. Phone was on the table with the match playing live. It was boring, the usual Mourinho borefest where their biggest bragging right was we didn't have a shot on target. We had a number of close off target shots, Dele just the wrong side of the post De Gea beaten, but we didn't have a shot on target. That's the depths they've sunk to.

Anyway - why the actual fuck do they cut the crusts off the sandwiches for afternoon tea? I'm not 4.

I can never understand why Liverpool fans are so obsessed with us and Harry Kane.

Same reason as why some of us are obsessed with Liverpool and Salah. We've been a direct rival to them recently and Kane's the one likely to battle Salah for top scorer.

I’ve muted the words “Liverpool” and “Salah” from my twitter feed. Try it, it’s so much nicer and refreshing not to see or hear their fans.

A West Ham fan replied with this:

Son wouldn't get in to their eleven and Dembele possibly :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Not sure why he felt the need to do this. Wasn’t the original (incorrect) point from the caller that their bench was better than ours now? In which case the guy should be comparing benches not our bench to their first team.

Having said that... at least 5 of our subs against Fulham would easily get in their first team. Vorm over Fabianski, Rose, Dembele, Lamela and Winks. I mean, that’s pretty damning for a team that’s just spent £100M to a team that hasn’t spent anything at all.

My timeline on Fb 2 weeks ago was full of West Ham fans saying ‘top 7 this year, no excuses’ and ‘this could be the year we overtake the yids’ etc. This weekend it was ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ and ‘fuck off Pellegrini you weird haired ****’.

i think its a lot about their Harry Kane was Robbie Fowler and he was arguably more naturally talented but he pissed it away and Kane wont. He'll beat Shearers record and they know it. And that hammers home that being a Scouse is worse. The Beatles have a lot to answer for

I'm a bit too young to have ever seen Fowler play. How come he never really made it? From what I've seen of stats, it looks like he was banging them in early into his career?

Dunno about not really making it he was a great little player. At that time though we had a lot of excellent strikers. Shearer, sheringham, wright, cole, ferdinand etc...
