No stadium expenses though, we all cover that for them.

I was astonished when they dumped Moyes. Incredible mismanagement. If Moyes' career tells you anything, it's that he does well when he can build a team from youth in his way, gradually, and can put the overall club (Everton) into good working order, but does badly when dropped into a high-pressure job where he has to deliver results immediately (Man Utd post-Ferguson).

If they were going to appoint Moyes in the first place, they had to give him 3-4 years to do what he does well, not treat his appointment like another quick fix and then bail as soon as results dipped. They have no strategic nous, no long term plan.

Daniel Levy arrived at Tottenham as a novice in 2001 and it took him two seasons to figure out that the previous approach of buying second-rate players and former stars, with one flair player to keep the fans happy, wasn't going to work and wasn't going to increase the value of his investment, at which point he appointed Frank Arnesen.

There were ups and down thereafter, until 2015, but there was always a plan. West Ham don't appear to have a plan. They secured a manager who does long-term planning well and then they promptly got rid of him. It's just ... unprofessional.

Plus, all those photos of new signings doing that stupid cross-arms nonsense are pathetic.

Imagine how fucking awkward it must be when they explain to each new signing, who probably would much rather be at any other PL team, that they need to do that stupid pose, as if they've been a Hammers fan since birth and signing with them is the apogee of their life.

You may remember that West Ham misspelled Arnautovic's name on his shirt last season.

Well, they've made sure it won't happen again and have moved the guy responsible onto other duties.

Sadly, they've put him in charge of the giant screen...

Sat opposite Chelmsford station in my spurs polo and watched them come off the train whilst sipping my beer.

It was a good day.

Pellegrini is alleged to be the third highest paid manager in the Premier League, so I'm sure he's fully analysed the key aspects of the games they've lost and identified the slight tweaks in tactical nuance that West Ham need to deliver in order to turn this round.

So, then, Manuel, what's the plan?

Defend better and score more goals. Fucking genius. Give that man £10m a year, West Ham.

Oh, you already have? Oh dear.

Breaking news:

Sources have revealed that player purchases and managerial appointments at West Ham have, in fact, been carried out by a “purchasing consultant” appointed by the board.

In a statement issued by Lady Brady, the reasoning behind the appointment was revealed;

“The board decided that the appointment of a professional, to spend the revenue generated by the club, was the responsible approach to take our club to the next level. After rigorous examination of the financial experts available, the club have made this appointment with 100% certainty that the expert chosen will spend the revenue in the most responsible manner, acquiring only the best available personnel for the best value available.
It is with pride that West Ham United can reveal the financial expert chosen to maximise return on our revenue spend.”
