Hope there’s some footage of this. West Ham normally film games but they’ve probably burnt it already lol.

heerenveen can't handle marcus, he's dribbling by them for fun and the only way they've stopped him is by fouling - one of which led to excelsior scoring. i know it's a bit of a cliché but it just feels as though once he gets his first goal he could really go off, he's forced the keeper into a couple of good saves already so hopefully it won't be too long until he does manage to get one.

He could have scored 2 already. Might be tonight

looked much more like a work in progress in the 2nd half(which is exactly what he is in fairness), lost the ball a few times and squandered a couple of great chances to score - at least worked the keeper on the first one but blazed over from close range on the other. still though they were all of his own making, there aren't many players around who can consistently work themselves into those areas and create chances for themselves, i'm sure it won't be too long until it happens for him as he's shown enough times at youth level that he's not just all flash and no bang. shame excelsior threw away two points in the dying minutes again, they really should have won the last two.

Burnett seems quite negative in his approach and line ups. More concerned about grinding out results. Total opposite to wells.

he is, though we have lost quite a lot of attacking talent from this team for various reasons(bennetts, shashoua, edwards, sterling, griffiths) so there aren't a ton of options unless we dip into the u18s. i wouldn't be against nkoudou getting a few games for the u23s tbh but it won't happen.

0-4 … bit of a comedown from yesterday.

not a fan of how we've lined-up but they should be doing a lot better than this, would have thought they'd at least be tough to beat.
