Being a season ticket holder since Ossie’s debut, I’ve always loved having an Argentinian or two in the Spurs team. Whether it’s nostalgia or their flair it just always feels a little bit extra special.

So having Foyth break into the team properly after seeing his genuine talent so far just helps ignite a bit of enthusiasm in me after a fairly dull frustrating start to the season.

The point is he won't develop unless he plays and he won't play much if we're lucky with injuries, there is no doubting his potential and quality, but fucking hell...have a bit of perspective.

Any time anyone young has a decent game, you all start getting on like they're nailed on to be a legend.

Funnily enough lots didn't do that when Harry was trying to make his way.

So refreshing to see the lad - I wonder whether he's not been playing on account of his injury picked up in the summer (was it a hammy?) - Poch probably being cautious with him.

Immense performance.

Highlights demonstrated the potential and showed why ThinkTank believes he could also play DM with the way he covers pitch, has composure on ball and play the simple pass.
My only slight reservation is that sometimes looked like he needed more upper body strength.
This guy needs to get minutes on the pitch now, he is our future.
We have our own deLigt already in our ranks

I thought he was exceptional last night. Imagine how good he will be when Pochettino gives him a run out in his favoured deep lying playmaker position.

Need to see highlights of his performance but there's clearly many people who feel he had an excellent game, which is encouraging to hear. And buggar me he only cost £10m

He has massive potential. Really looking forward to see how he develops this season.

He had a very good game, and his potential is very obvious. Needs a bit more muscle though, and it was also evident that he needs playing time. He got pushed off the ball by Antonio simply because he didn't anticipate the push and failed to brace himself for it, which is stuff that he'll learn by playing games.

That was a clear foul though, couldn't believe the ref let it go and would have been fuming if that went in. Also I don't think Gazzaniga helped him by refusing to come and get the ball.

He will get caught on the ball occasionally
because he pushes into the midfield gap.
with the ball
It's not whether to do it
but when.
He'll soon learn.
Essential to break any press
and open up the next layer.

I'm sure I studied this poem in GCSE English.

Great performance from the young lad. Definitely no need to rush him straight into the first team yet as he is only 20 and CB is probably the most difficult position to play as a real youngster. Get him back fully fit & firing in training & if he can play 15-20 games (incl sub appearances) this season then thats a great footing for next season.

Let's be honest, Toby won't be getting a new deal with us and I think Foyth is next in line to take his place in the team over the course of the next 2 years. Look forward to him & Sanchez forming a great partnership!

biggest compliment I can pay him is that throughout the game i thought it was Toby (didn't have my glasses and no internet reception) - the way he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, knowing when to press or when to hold back. Also loved the way he was looking for that incisive pass into midfield.

He played well last night and deals with the physical side of the game well considering he looks so slender a star in the making.
