Okay, well my question is, does he have enough to offer Spurs moving forward? (I understand that you can't find an imediate like for like replacement compared to what Eriksen brings us)

I would say so, there's nothing Eriksen does which James can't offer IMO.

Eriksen, I would say, is the better professional though. However I've no doubt Poch can work with that. He's managed occasional tendencies towards petulance from the likes of Aurier and Toby rather well.

Brilliant player on his day.

If Poch thinks he can get him to knuckle down then that's fine by me.

Would give the whole place a lift also.

He's certainly a classy player. You'd hope we could use RMs interest in Eriksen to try and garner some leverage with RM if we are interested. Send him to us over Arsenal as a good will gesture. Poch would have to work on his fitness and off the ball work rate but he is a top talent no doubt about it, and can run games like Eriksen (although not as deep as this season). Certainly seemed to start well at Bayern too.

Agreed, not sure if James can offer the workrate and stamina Eriksen provides though (can be corrected on this), although Poch can change that if he has the right mentality.

James is a proper party boy - couldn’t be further away from Eriksen as a personality

Came on in the 78th minute for Bayern vs Hoffenheim last Friday and looked pretty sharp.

Obviously not much time to make an impact but played a great ball in the build up to Bayern's third goal.

One other tidbit - James's wife is the Colombian volleyball player Daniela Ospina.

She's the sister of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina.

James and Daniela are in the process of divorcing.

Would he want to work with his ex-wife's brother? I've no idea.

Well. I don't think he would go to Arsenal and I doubt Ospina will be at Arsenal that much longer.

Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has ripped into the attitude of James Rodriguez, currently on loan at the Bavarians from Real Madrid. The Colombian playmaker is in the second year of a two-season long loan deal at the German champions but he is reportedly unhappy at a lack of playing time.

“Bayern have too many players only interested in themselves,” Matthaus said, in quotes cited by Spanish media.

“He (James) is one of the players who place their individual importance above the club, then they complain when they are not playing enough.

“It is egotistical and it is disrespectful in respect to his Coach, his club and his teammates, he cannot react angrily because Kovac does not put his arm around him like Heyneckes did.”

From October.

We could end up with a Colombian trio if the Barrios links ever come to anything.

Or even a quartet, if Shakira gives up singing and goes in to football.

That's a name I totally forgot about (Barrios, not Shakira)!

Great player, but he is constantly injured it seems.

I'd love to see us go after Pablo Fornals at Villarreal personally.

If we get that triad, one must wonder whether Levy is considering expanding his business into another area.:)

Always thought he was massively overrated because of that World Cup, like many have been and will be (we’ve got one who starts at right back for us). I’ve never really seen what the fuss was about. A poor mans VDV. This deal would be linked with us selling them Eriksen, if that horrendous thing occurs I think I’d rather just get cash and try and buy someone who isn’t always getting injured and works hard.

He was highly rated at Porto and Monaco, though. Like many others before him, his career went downwards after he joined the dark side.
