For the first time I’m worried that Poch thinks he’s leaving in the summer.

It could be that he doesn’t want to sign players now because it would offend his sense of what is proper to bring players in now and make
I agree. I have a gut feeling he's looking at what Liverpool have done in terms of fully and completely backing the manger's vision for the squad and has decided to put his foot down and demand his targets or nothing at all. He's putting the club's ambition to the test, and if we prove repeatedly that we are incapable of matching his own ambition you'd have to wonder what he'll be thinking about his future here.

A bit more,

Q: So Poch has put the block on players he has identified for 18 months as top targets? Or the club hasn’t matched his ambition and are offering players that suit a spreadsheet and not his wishes? I’d understand Poch blocking in that scenario.

JJ: I can tell you that he is happy with his squad and doesn’t want any new players. Let’s hope he is right (y)

Q: He's happy with llorente playing every game? A broken lamela also? Nkoudou having to play? Ummmm

JJ: We are hoping that he changes his mind but this is why he is so special and prefers to play all his squad

Easy fix, sell all the rarely used squad players at discounted rates and loan out all the promising kids lol. Then asking him if he’ll accept new signings lol

Given we’re not signing ‘said players’, I do wonder who they are and what the fan response would be eg, Poch needs a bitch slap or bullet dodged.

Can someone check with JJ which definition of "special" he is applying here.

JJ on twitter:

Q: If you were a betting man JJ, will we see the squad bolstered by end of window ?

JJ: Up to Poch as so far he has been the blocker.

Q: Do you mean blocker as in Poch doesn't want the players offered to him or he feels he doesn't want new players in this window? (or further options!).

JJ: The latter

Right, can we stop blaming Levy for our transfer inactivity now? No? I didn't think so....

and what is that different way. Can you elaborate it.
I don’t have any insider info but I have previously argued that adding to our first team is very difficult without competing with top clubs. Those clubs can all pay more than us.

Itk plus poch interviews suggest he doesn’t want squad players anymore. He wants players for the first team. Otherwise better off filling bench with academy kids.

Nothing is Pochs fault or Levy’s fault. It’s a philosophy - a pure way of seeing the game. Look at Pochs football dad, Bielsa. Something so pure about his choice of clubs, his insistence on philosophy and developing players.

Ironically whilst people are wetting themselves about the prospect of losing Poch because he can buy a team at Man Utd, Id bet that is not very attractive to him. Spurs offers a place where he can build something of value, develop players, instil his philosophy.

This is convenient when we have a stadium project and tight finances. When Poch says he and Levy are on the same page, I’d take that at face value.

Fans and professionals don’t think the same way and the itk is increasingly clear on this.

So Poch was happy to sanction the signing of Grealish in the summer, as we put a bid in but now there's not a single attainable player that he would be happy with? I hope the ITK people are as confused as I am.

But Herc is saying that Poch does have targets, they just aren't targets that the club can secure. Who the fault belongs to is open to interpretation, I suppose.

I remember from one of itk something like enjoy the ride now ...
I am dreading the summer when toby and (if) christian leaves. Mousa already gone. We have to sign 3 replacements and what we need right now. And poch being stubborn and levy being levy offering players from poundland. The worst thing is we can't enjoy the current moment as we are rocked by injuries. Its not easy to support tottenham

The question still stands of why we’re offering players to Poch that he hasn’t sanctioned... thought he was in charge of transfer targets? looks like it’s still our out of touch board.

I feel like Poch has had some Freaky Friday with Bus-Conductor or Windy if he feels he can rely on giving youth a chance and the thing that makes that less believable to me is how Onomah and KWP have so far been used in their careers.

The way I see it, is that he IS a genius, or he's off.

I can't see much middle ground here.

If he's genuinely happy, which JJ alludes to, then great! I'll back the man all the way. It's not like he's gotten much wrong and his record kinda speaks for itself.

If he's putting the blockers on transfers (admittedly it might be to thin the squad and prevent N'purchases, then fine) because he would see it as being disloyal, and needlessly costing the club millions if he potentially has his mind on another managerial role, then Jesus wept.

Although.... maybe, just maybe there's an option three....

He is thinking very long term with this club. Maybe he believes that there are some absolute prospects in our academy that are nearly ready to be used. Maybe he knows that he needs to shift players to create some squad space for some plan he has. Maybe he has a plan that none of us have thought about. Maybe he's activated beast mode and will absolutely astound us with his magnificence in the next season or two. Maybe he believes that using youth and promting from the academy will mean he has a very hungry team that are all completely indoctrinated with his philosophy, ethos and style.

All I do know is that this is absolutely fascinating stuff.

And lastly, if he's happy, then we should be. He's earnt that, and more, from us. Let's have some patience and see what transpires before we shit-can Levy, ENIC, Mace, Tyco, Poch, Chirpy for finding ourselves in this situation. Because clearly we know fuck all.

Old baldy and Poch haven't got a lot wrong in the last 4-5 years, and we ain't down for the count yet.

Let's see....

Completely conflicts with Goats info about us looking to bring two in. I'm so confused. It was easier when I could just hate Levy for ruining everything.

Can somebody please tell JJ that what I appreciate more than his ITK snippets are his continuous bashings of Liverpool on twitter. He's doing gods work.
