Why not add Messi and Mbappe !

Some did. It's just a hypothetical discussion in which people are naming players that that believe could the is to that ever elusive next level. As well as realistic, attainable options that are within out reach abs would improve our squad options.

I don't understand why you are (seemingly?) so annoyed that people are mentioning players who we clearly have no chance of getting, in a transfer wish list thread.

How realistic it would be would be up for debate but looking at the likely ins/outs for next season could go:

Vorm (Free)
Alderweireld (£25m)
Eriksen (an optimistic £100m?)
Trippier (£20-30m)
Aurier (~£20m)
Llorente (Free, although recent impact wouldnt surprise me if given another year)
Wanyama (£10-15m)
Fingers crossed we get whatever we can for GNK and Janssen too. I'd listen to offers for Lucas too. He could be upgraded for sure.

Hypothetically £200m for that lot. If KWP is seen as ready to step into at least a rotational spot, then just 1 RB would be required. Needing us to replace

3rd choice GK - HG youth
RB - Wan Bissaka
DM -
Ideally a top CM - N'Dombele etc
AM - Id Love Havertz but would cost a fortune.
ST -

Thats where our scouts need to earn their money.

A lot depends on the way Poch wants to play I guess, and if Rose can get back to his levels of 2 years ago.

If Eriksen leaves he will be nowhere near 100m.

Very odd from Lyons manager. He is sounding like N'Dombeles agent.

Tanguy will become a top club midfielder so I would not be surprised to see him at Juve in the future. But as I am his coach, I would like to enjoy him a little more here at Lyon

Owner prop authorised those comments. No manager would say that unless told to

This might be for another place but read worrying quotes from Wenger that when the scum secured loans the banks capped amount of money they could spend on wages and transfers although can't remember exactly regarding transfers

Need some ITK to say we are not in a similar position.

Discussing price nowadays is nonsense. Prices aren’t determined by a player’s worth. The wealth of the clubs interested plays a much bigger role.

Eriksen will only leave for a step up, so it would be the elite teams that would buy him.

Could command a huge fee if the interest is there.

And for me I think we need Ricardo Pereira and Ndombele and renew Eriksen Toby contracts

If we can't keep eriksen then replace with Bale

If we can't keep toby then replace with De Ligt

That's all

IMO replacing Toby isn't a huge priority with Sanchez. Foyth, Verts, Dier and Davies all competent CBs. If he's demanding excessive wages he'll have to go. I also think if we're looking at CBs it has to be a long term replacement for Verts.

I think this is the interesting part about our upcoming business. Do we buy or give someone a chance to step up?

If we sell a full back does KWP get a chance? Are Skipp, Winks, Wanyama, Dier and Sissoko better than the players we can get? Are we better off keeping Llorente than buying a new backup?

He would surely command a huge fee for a player with a year of contract left. That won't be 100 million pounds. I mean I know this thread is mostly just wish fulfillment, but let's be a little realistic or we are just setting ourselves up for disappointment. The buying club's options aren't "pay up or don't get the player", they are "pay up or get the player for free in 10 months".

Depends on who is interested. If Bale is to leave then Real might want a new attacking mid straight away. They are not exactly known for putting saving money at the top of their list.

If more than one elite club comes in then we do have more negotiating power.

While I agree £100m is unlikely I wouldn’t want to guess a transfer fee in today’s market. Plenty of players have been sold for huge fees despite having one year left on their contract.

i assumed it was a wish list based on a set of players that are realistic targets. If the list includes Andrew Robertson for example, why not Trent Alexander Arnold. If Sane, why not Sterling or Fernandinho. If Giroud, Abraham & Kante then RLC/ Hudson Odoi /Hazard. If Reiss Nelson, then add Nketiah & Smith Rowe

There's your error, mate. It's not called The Realistic Options thread.

People always take these wish lists one way or the other.

Some look at what they perceive to be realistic targets, others an actual wish list.

Best to just debate with those who are on your level.

I'd give Foyth the nod personally. If he was at Ajax he'd be attracting massive interest because he'd be playing every week. I think we need a CM like Diawara and probably a LWB like Grimaldo or Telles. I'd give Llorent another year and see where Parrot is at the end of next season. If Eriksen goes we need a quality signing to compensate for losing his creativity and that's where we need to focus our transfer funds because we'll come up well short for what he'll sell for.

It should be called 'Realistic Wish List'. I saw Robinson on someones list , did he just sign a new contract at Liverpool? now that isn't realistic...Tottenham signing Messi isn't realistic, whoever signing Rabiot is a realistic wish

I know swap deals never happen, but I wonder if there would be any interest in exchanging Eriksen for Bale and Modrić? On the face of it we lose one of our best players in his prime and get a couple who are, realistically, on a downward trajectory now but I do think the overall effect on the squad would be at least a small net positive.

There was some report a while back that James Rodriguez could be part of a deal. Probably utter tosh and no hint as to whether James would be interested. I don't think he would.
