Q. Did You Know?
The final of the CL is on the 1st June 2019.

Our last League game is the 12th May. That’s 3 clear weeks we will have to wait without playing a competitive game :ROFLMAO:

Bold prediction. I like it but that's some serious optimism you have there

Really begs the question why the prem was started so soon after the world cup. Could have put it back 2 weeks.

I, unfortunately, did. Mocking the life out of my Utd mates. Crushed by the end.

Some serious scars over the years.

For what its worth I have total faith in Pochettino and this group of players and genuinely believe those days are behind us ??

I would like to think so but I’m not brave enough to say it!

How dare you lot forgot the 3-0 HT lead we had against City in the FA Cup where Barton got sent off at HT, only for 10-man City to score 4 in the 2nd half to knock us out? That was more horrific than the United comeback imo.

I was at both too. The City one was a complete freak result.

Hope you have to change your name from The Long Suffering One soon!

I was living in Cyprus (GMT +2 hours) at the time and went to bed at half time as we seemed comfortable. Couldn't believe the score when I got up

Completely different time, players and coaching staff. We, the fans, need to forget about those past defeats. Poch and the players have surely earned the right for us to feel confident and not fear the worst by now?!

I keep seeing these past turnarounds come up daily now. The players, at not even their best, beat a Bundesliga leading Dortmund 3-0 who featured the second coming of Jesus in Jadon Sancho. Come 2nd leg, Kane, Rose, Dier, Wanyama and Alli could all be back in the fold and we very rarely go a match without scoring.

Unlike the rest of you fearing the worst, I am confident of scoring and going through. I get not wanting to be complacent, but the mindset of some you baffles me. It is exactly what Poch wants us to move on from.

SPOT ON

Exactly what Poch is talking about BUT I reckon for the majority of supporters over about 40 odd we still have this huge negative voice in our heads due to so many past abject performances

That 3-0 at HT at home to Man United is a great example of those days and encapsulated all of those years so well

3-0 up played really well but nearly the entire ground knew that if Man U scored one early in the 2nd half there would only be 1 winner come 90mins

As it turned out Andy Cole did score very early in the 2nd half with a great header and we went on to get annihilated 3-5

That soft underbelly has long gone and we need to keep those demons we're carrying in our closets well and truly locked away

Sadly will never be able to erase that horror from my mind. Can recall Dalmat putting in possibly the worst display I've ever seen in a Spurs shirt...

Yes, it was. Not only because of the 10 men, but unlike United with Keane, Giggs, Scholes, City had Jon Mackem running the show.

There's nothing tying us to the Spurs of old to the Spurs of today apart from the fans who still bear those scars, time to grow some balls and move on I think.

Some of us have lived through the good times before then as well.
We are lucky because we can remember those times too.... obviously with greater enjoyment.

Well put. I know there's many fans who over the years have seen some humiliating stuff at Spurs - maybe, just maybe, the new stadium will galvanise some confidence in those with that negativity in the backs of their minds.

At some point though, as cringe-worthy and perhaps alien as it may seem, we need to back the team and the manager with everything we have. Poch has worked wonders with our team and we're now capable of challenging, in spite of a very unbalanced set of finances. For me, the fans need to make that extra bit happen. A bit more confidence and a great atmosphere home and away and we may well be the 12th man. Maybe we won't see it until we're in the new home but i hope it's there and we can help the club make the last (and hardest) step to silverware.

No one is doubting what job he's done or even that this spurs is far better than previous years. However we need to win something for many to relax, all those awful experiences aren't going to disappear over night. For a lot of us we have never seen spurs win anything of note.
