I found him extremely frustrating today. And I've been banging on about playing him over Trippier.

But at least Tripper offers a lot more going forward, even though he's a liability defensively against any pacey attack.

Aurier is the more robust defender but he didn't even get the basics right in that respect today, and it was his silly clearance that led to their second goal.

He was also played in, by Son I think, into a fabulous position with two or three in great positions in the box, basically any half decent ball probably results in a goal and he made an absolute mess of it.

Yes we lost, and it was really frustrating and it's easy to target some players... Hindsight is great etc... But you can't help but feel Tripper and Sanchez in that starting eleven would of made a significant difference today.

In fact this was a game for Trippier as Burnley are certainly not a lively attacking force.

Pissed me off so much that, I was screaming "pass it!" at the TV and he just kept on running. Some of his play really does just lack intelligence. Trippier can be a liability defending sometimes, but at least he more often than not does the right thing with the ball at his feet.

May just be me, but it also seems that Trippier seems to be the sunlight to Sissoko's kryptonite, if you get what I mean?.

Sissoko seems to know EXACTLY what his job is when he's in the middle, knowing he'll pretty much 'have to' drop in and cover while Trippier is up the other end using his ability going forward. When Trippier doesn't play, we seem to get the old Sissoko.

Might be some merit in that mate.

I agree, but is it lack of intelligence or confidence?

I'd be down to sell Tripps and Serge, then buy a new RB to compete with KWP.

It’s the answer isn’t it, but will we?

Then there’s the replacement, it will have to come from abroad because we won’t be paying £40 million for the Palace chap, even if it is the going rate and we have the proceeds from the sale of the other two.

I’m not sure how he’s done at Bournemouth (and have mentioned it before) but if Clyne shows some form and looks injury free then we should try for him as a cheap home grown option. Now I’m not saying he should be our first choice option, just a thought.

Aurier is good enough as a back up. If we don’t have confidence in KWP or believe his body needs to fill out/grow then we need a new normal starter at RB. Personally I would play KWP and let him develope. Neither Aurier or Trippier are good enough to be a normal starters.

I don’t think he lacks confidence in any way to be honest. The opposite if anything

He lacks discipline and at times, makes utterly ridiculous decisions. Sometimes a Phil Bardsley put it in to touch is all it needs. Maldini was never scared to put the ball out of play in order to reset. The best defender the game has ever seen.

What is the point of any more discussion about this rash utter liability car crash of a player

I knew all these is going to happened before we signed him

Just sell him asap and close this nightmare of a thread

Thought this guy showed some potential for a new Pochettino fullback whisperer masterclass in his first performances for us, but this far along the way and him being 26 years old now, I think it's safe to say it's not happening. We'd been better off spending the money on Adam Smith.

Cutting our losses with two of our right backs and going in hard for Wan-Bissaka would be neat.

I think we can cover Trippier weaknesses better than Aurier.

Trippier and Sissoko have good chemistry in that if Trippier bombs forward, Sissoko covers well.

Aurier and Sissoko chemistry just wasnt there on weekend.

So glad someone else has noticed this. I mentioned it to @Mr Pink over the weekend. It's so obvious.
