Marcus Edwards has been very good since he came on, this new Excelsior manager is stupid for not playing him
TBF, it's his first game in charge and he is playing 442 (according to whoscored, i didn't see the game) which doesn't suit Edwards.

How did he do overall?

did well for about 20-25 minutes and was heavily involved in the play, was playing out on the left but with licence to drift infield a lot. moved back out to the right after that but went out of the game from then really bar the odd moment or two. here's the run he nearly scored from, he's had many situations like this throughout the season though but once again he probably took too many touches.

Love the crowd's reaction to Marcus breaking into the opposition box. He's got three more games left in this season, I hope he gets to finish the season with another goal or a couple of assists.

played 74 mins, was ok, a bit up and down. this was his best moment which should've resulted in an assist. still needs to be more decisive in the final 3rd and find ways of being more involved overall.

Give him a new 2-3 year deal and another loan next season, preferably to a Bundesliga club where he'll get at least 20 starts. Got to stick with him and see if it clicks because if it does, he will become a hugely important player for us. He's taking the right steps I've been impressed with his development this season.

If he comes back he will be better anyway better players around him playing, in his home environment will make it easier.

Has he grown a little bit. In the clips above he looks small but not tiny like he did.

You'd hope so given his age. If not it might be time to start feeding him the Messi growth hormones!

Time to accept that for whatever reason he's not making it at Spurs, the bar has been raised so that only elite youngsters will break through, he's clearly nowhere near that.

How old was Kevin De Bruyne before he broke through?

Not all players can be wonder kids or breakthrough around the same time, chill out.

The caveat with him is that he made the mistake of going to Chelsea.

Edwards is 20, he's played 15 games of football, 1 for Norwich and 14 for Excelsior. I have nothing against him at all but anybody who thinks he has a future at a top 4 club is going to be disappointed.

Exactly. DeBruyne was (I think) 22 when Mourinho decided he wasn't good enough for Chelsea?

Didier Drogba didn't even sign his first pro contract until he was 21, and that was only for Ligue 2 Guingamp.

I've got no idea what Edwards is like as a player, but sometimes players just need to find the right environment to blossom. The above players, and our own Harry Kane are surely proof of that?

No idea if Edwards will make it but Mahrez had only just got into Le Havre's first team squad when he was 21 and now he's playing for Man City.

Edwards would benefit watching how Moura plays
Moura is small but put himself about and not afraid to challenge for headers
Uses his speed and trickery to good effect . All these if Edwards had it in his game would do him a lot of good
