We're seeing this play out a bit. Would wager we've been in contact but not officially bid due to difference in asking price or waiting for CL to finish as Poch said. Fulham know we're going to low-ball so they tell some pressers to see if they can drum up interest that might catch Sess's eyes with big names. Now Sess's camp is briefing some pressers his preference is Spurs if he leaves and wants to stay in London. Nothing anyone involved probably didn't already know, it's just playing out in the press cycles which is hopefully a good sign. However when I saw a very similar thing happen with Barkley I thought that deal was all but done and well here we are.

I do think Barkley would have happened if he didn't rip his hammy off the bone to be fair.

Underwhelmed. He's had a very mediocre year in the Prem and to be honest his last four or five months in the Champ weren't that special either. Every time I've seen him in the last 15 or so months he's been at best peripheral and at worse outright struggling.

Poch and our scouting team must see something in this lad that I don't. I think he's very average but they know a hell of a lot more than I do. If Poch wants, make sure Poch gets.

In fairness, we have wanted him since he was 16 years old, so they know in detail about him.

I think we're more likely to develop him as a left back than attacking player.

The fact he was not only holding his own but excelling as a 16 year old in the championship shows a unique talent. He is exactly the kind of signing that we should be making to supplement other more high profile purchases. If he went to a team like Leicester or Bournemouth and did well he would be out of our price range and everyone would be bemoaning our inability to spot take a chance on players early.

I don't see it. I don't think we should be signing a player who i think is a very rough diamond, just because he's had some success in the championship.
Bar being athletic, i can't see anything he excels at, and i actually think he's technically poor.
Just because he started young doesn't mean he'll become a world beater. Can anyone suggest a game where he's really impressed them?

You realise he's 18 years old?

It's so ridiculous to dislike him because of the season Fulham have had. They've been terrible all season and he's still managed 2 goals and 6 assists.

Even at 18, in a bad team, a player with the potential some of you see in him should show something to spark the imagination. I've seen nada from this boy.

Sign him asap if he is available for 25mio or so. He will either be:
a) top class player in few years
b) easily sold for at least 20mio to some other PL team

Really a no brainer. I also believe his wage demands are not a problem. Makes lots of sense.

Put him in a team with better players, a better manager, and watch him drastically improve.

Absolute no brainer, can't believe some aren't that keen on the idea!

The fact he's been on our radar for the whole time along with other top teams shows the talent must be there. Temperament is a big thing in football and if a player is able to handle the pressure of senior football at a really young age then the potential is clearly there to develop into a top player.

What makes you believe this? He doesn't look technically sound in a team that has so much more time and space than we're generally afforded, but you have such faith. I don't get it.
Can you name a player who reminds you of sesengnon that's drastically improved when moving to a better team?

The closest comparison I can think of is probably Andy Robertson? Didn't look anything particularly special at Hull, now probably the best left back in the league.

Went to a better team, with a better coach and now he's better player.

Doesn't always work but Sessengon is 18 years old...

I don't mind stats but I prefer the eye test.
With your eyes have you seen anything that's truly impressed you about the boy?
My eyes have been impressed with the 8 goal contributions he’s made as an 18 year old in the most competitive league in the world, often played out of position for 3 different managers in a terrible team pal

That's cool brother. Can you name a particular match where he's impressed you? I haven't watched much of Fulham but when i have he's either been massively peripheral, or Just unimpressive. Maybe watching one of his better games will give me some hope.

FYI, Domestic transfer window opens in 2 days. Must be why we're getting whiff of the Sessegnon rumours now
