Perhaps the Dybala money could be added to a few extra £££ on contract extensions.
Toby, Eriksen and Jan should easily be on 150k pw this season.
Just get them happy and playing well.
Verts better than sanchez’s Showing today and CE made a massive difference when he came on.
Keeping these three could be way more important for us

Not sure those who are saying 'don't worry, he'll play against City' listened to Poch's comments after the game. He all but said Jan didn't deserve to be in the squad. The manager doesn't say that about one of his most senior players and then select him in the next match. Something has clearly happened and it didn't sound like there would be a quick way back for Vertonghen

Serious issues next season if he goes aswell.

Potentially Rose, Eriksen, Toby, and Jan gone, worrying times.

Well on the other hand, how could we put ourselves in the situation when 3 players from first eleven, absolutly crucial for the team, are all out of contract in a year? Potential 200mln to reinvest.

Whichever way we slice it, this season Sanchez needs to play more than both the Belgians, as next season he’ll have either one of them or neither of them to partner and we need st least him to step up to be the main man. So if we have him in with one of them, and then Dier on the bench with either Davies or Aurier (as that effectively covers the entire defence plus DM), so be it. Painful but necessary in my view. If Toby or Jan don’t play they’re almost not necessary in the squad, and if it means that they remain rested and strong for the big tests when we need both of them (like next week potentially), even better.

Jan said in the mix zone after the game he wasn't injured.

This is a very good point tbh.

But probably, we couldn’t spend any amount of money to replace CE and argueably the best CB partnership in recent prem history. £80m for Maguire and he isn’t as good as either Jan or Toby.

use that £50m + to get them all signed on 150k for Jan and Toby
Up to 200k for CE.

Keeping them until we want to move on is hugely important right now.

Could it just be simply exactly what Poch said and Jan just didn't train well this week?

We've got a big squad now, players are going to not make the bench, are we going to get this reaction every time?

this actually reminds me of that chapter in Poch’s book, about when Biesler went to Esp. - Poch was feeling good about the reunion at first but Biesler was pissed, as Poch being one of the most senior players in the club was so deep in his comfort zone that’s borderline slacking off. So Biesler gave him sort of a slap down and Poch responded with one of his better seasons?

I wonder if that’s the case, plainly footballing reason to make him play better...I hope that’s the case.

I don't really get why he has to win his place back, what did he do wrong to lose it? I know we don't see the ins and outs on the training pitch but to drop our most consistent CB of the last 5 years out of the squad completely is just plain weird.
