Good news. As with VDV, get this done if deemed good enough. If we also get the 'star option' then gravy but we have at least not left ourselves completely screwed either way.

I have just spent the last 30 minutes watching Radu Dragusin highlights. Anything I could get my hands on, I watched it. I skipped all the ads as fast as I could, just to get back to the Radu Dragusin highlights.

What I noticed first is the manbun. It's wonderful and we are a team built on fun and energy and good vibes and a manbun really completes the set. This is crucial.

As far as how he plays? I liked what I saw. He looks aggressive, but not Romero aggressive. Seems to really anticipate and time his tackles well (got between his man and the pass a ton, and didn't kill anyone). He's really good in recovery tackles, which I think Ange will immediately recognize and view as valuable. He really closes down space fast and does well using his frame (he looks huge). He looks like a fucking majestic Trojan soldier running around on the battlefield.

I also want to note I have no idea if he can pass a football. I saw one clip where he passed the ball. It was completed, so I should say he is an amazing passer as he had a 100% pass success rate per my research. However, I am thorough. I went to fbref and they are telling me he's in the 9th percentile in passes completed and 20th percentile in passing completion. However, fbref is is for communists and Genoa are a shitty team that have the 3rd worst possession stats in Serie A. Dragusin can pass, this is Genoa's fault. When he comes to Tottenham he will pass the ever living shit out of the ball.

I think we will be happy if we sign him. He looks super solid, he's young and he happens to be really good at what Ange demands from his defenders.

As a result of meeting the criteria of "30 Minutes Spent Watching Football" I have now retained my Online Football Scout CertificationTM

Still want him based on his name alone. And, he has that Ibra vibe. Not just the hair. The overall look. Like if he wasn’t a pro footballer, he’d definitely be working for some organized crime family and would eventually get killed by Denzel’s Robert McCall, with a chopstick from his own manbun, through his throat.

Ive watched all The Equalizer movies and proudly admit to loving each one.

In the meantime… sounds like he has also been kicking ass for Genoa, is young, and plays Ange’s style. That’s enough for me.

Also crucial to note that there must be an easy song to the tune of Rasputin by Boney M. All the important elements are slotting together.

I have the same feeling with this guy as I did with VdV. He seems like he’s not the very top target, but possibly better suited for us, and a better deal to do.

Really good vid from Ange doing the rounds on other social media clock-noised named app which basically says “not that much difference in quality between the very top and the level below” but that fundamentally the character of the player is the most important factor for him.

I know You Tube vids can be deceptive, but he looked proactive, invested and switched on, he does look like a player with character.
As you say, this deal could be ready to go in the first week.

We badly need to sign him as soon as we can. Getting him in before the FA cup game would be the ideal scenario.

Yep we'll probably lose to Bournemouth (I half expected us to pick up minimal points in these two after Romero went off) but we can at least minimise the damage by getting someone in for the 5th.

Can see this one being the most likely one to happen in terms of a CB. The Paratici link, 21 years old, 6'3 and looks to be mobile from clips. Not seen too many clips which show his passing and bringing the ball out so don't know what he is like in that area.

Also probably happy to bide his time behind Romero and VDV for a while and probably can be bought in for a relatively low/moderate fee by todays standards

If we’ve scouted him and believe he is of comparable level to JC todibo, then we should do the same as we did for vicario and just press the button.
the only market we’ve apparently mastered is the serie a one.

we need to do better on taking a confident approach to transfers where we identify the talent, the right price and then pay it.
in the past we always tried to get tier 1 players for tier 2 prices, which dragged on and on.

Pertinent bits -

Postecoglou has told Spurs that as well as his top priority, which is a new central defender, he also believes his squad is in need of an additional winger and a midfielder, who can play the box-to-box No 8 role.

With Nice hopeful of hanging on to centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo until at least the summer, Tottenham are expected to quickly step up their interest in Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, which was first revealed by Telegraph Sport.

Genoa have claimed that Dragusin will sign a new contract, but that has not put off Spurs with sources in Italy claiming they are ahead of Roma, AC Milan and Atalanta in the race to sign the Romania international.

The most likely winger for Spurs to target in January is Jota. Tottenham are likely to look at a loan deal or a free transfer for Jota and it remains to be seen whether Al-Ittihad will seek a significant fee.

Postecoglou’s hopes of landing a new No 8 are likely to rest on whether or not Tottenham can sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has attracted interest from Juventus.

Tottenham showed interest in Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, who would fit Postecoglou’s style perfectly, but were unwilling to match the £50 million valuation. Unless the Blues’ asking price drops dramatically, then that is likely to remain the case.

Tottenham are also drawing up a list of striker targets, which includes Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, but that may have to wait until the summer unless the club receive a huge offer from Saudi Arabia for Richarlison.
