5 goals in the last 6 games and he has one crap match and people are calling for him to be sold. This place is wild.
Look, we all got used to an absolute dawg up front in Kane for 8 years. Anyone’s gonna suffer in comparison.

He does so many things averagely though. Got loads of heart and effort, but the quality is mediocre.

One thing is sure though and it's that neither Johnson or Richarlison showing enough to nail down a starting place when all are fit. Let's hope Soloman looks good when he returns.

Madness isn’t it.

Also genuinely curious, say we get offered 60million for him tomorrow, who are the people selling him buying to replace him?

They need to hit the ground running as Richys got 5 in his last 6 so I’m assuming people are selling him for someone who’s clearly better?
Honestly I’d sell for that and would try for a proven player wouldn’t even be against getting a 30 something year old for a season or so then go for Boniface.

Maybe even try for a Solanke or Abraham for now

Scarlett was on for a lot less tonight for example and just looked more of a threat and got on the ball more

Great effort as always but literally terrible today. After the last few games/goals I was hoping for better.

Ok, fair enough. It’s opinions of course.

Thanks though for being the first person I’ve seen in here to actually give some names they would go for 👍.

Johnson and Rocharlison would make excellent impact players

Utter nonsense, right? Win a game and some folk on here are straight into the player thread of the weakest link on the day slagging them off. Ah well. Grab a beer and stick a movie on instead, hey?!

My issue with Richarlison is trying to imagine him in the "big games". When we might only get one good chance, is he going to take it?

I think it’s fair to praise his work rate and excellent recent goal scoring form and also acknowledge that he likely isn’t the long term answer to our striker position.

He’s doing a great job and he’ll be an excellent squad option in the final version of this current team. But for this system to flourish we need someone much more clinical and comfortable with the ball at their feet too.

if its a one on one on his left foot no chance his ball striking is so poor. It's always going to be hard being compared to such a pure ball striker as Kane was and also Son is but seriously he doesn't even look like getting a clean strike on the ball most of the time unless its a header or right foot tap in. Scarlett looked like a baller when he came on compared to what we had seen from Richy for 80 minutes and he couldn't even get a kick in the championship. if you told me I had the choice of either of them to score a one on one against the keeper from the edge of the box and my life depended on it I would choose scarlett.

Yes, I never realized how slow he was!

i honestly think he is slower than Kane/Soldado/Janssen

He's 100% slower than Kane. Obviously in isolation you don't need to be quick to play cf, but considering how little else he has to his game it is a major problem.

But this is the thing, we're a team that create so many chances, and we can replace his contribution for very little. You can choose to look at his last 6 games in isolation, but watch him play, look at his entire Spurs career, and you'll see a glaring lack of so many attributes you'd want from a top level striker. To spend that amount on a player who just presses well and does little else is a bad use of funds.
