Premier League fans completely overrate Prem experience lol
It's also only really appropriate to mention if that player had actually been succesful in the PL........I've seen people mention (not here) how Werner has PL experience - not that I think he is a bad buy (quite the opposite in fact)........but I'm dumbfounded that they would use his disasterous spell at chelsea to justify him being a sensible purchase.

Hopefully that spell gave him enough time to learn the goal is in the same place in England and Germany

I don't know why - but I get a sneaky suspicion this will be a deadline day (or deadline week) deal. If there is a window opportunity open at this time to bring in a player Ange really wants, and Chelsea (for inexplicable reasons) want to play ball, then why not push out the boat, before the window of opportunity closes.

And if he does arrive, PEH leaves. But as I have said before, homie needs to accept that what we want for him in terms of price, can only be afforded by PL clubs. No club in Europe right now will give us 20 or 25M for PEH. But, there are clubs in the PL that will.
I get the same feeling.

As long as nothing unexpected comes up I think we'll sign Dragusin and Werner shortly.

Any other relatively big signings will likely be a bit dependent on sales.

I want to like the kid, but every time I watch him I just don’t see what he brings to the team. Sideways passing, no pace, doesn’t score enough goals, no ability to beat a man. Better than Skipp and Holberg, but only just.

The argument from most would be is he's being used wrong. At his best at WBA and Palace he was a B2B and would ghost into the box to finish chances, yet worked hard defensively. So many of us that do like him have said you're getting a player who's been a captain, young, HG, has a huge battery

Maybe you’re right, just struggling to convince he’s that much better than what we have in reserve.

Better comparison is Sarr and they would be excellent rotation. I think his pace is better than you think. Not that I think we’ll get him.

They probably wanted to sell him, rather than loan him.

Maybe they know they’ll be getting money in from elsewhere..

Incredible how you've managed to come up with a link between these two transfers

Well, Chelsea are desperate for money due to their FFP situation, and he was a player they’ve made prepared to sell yet they’ve sent him out in loan, hence no money for him. Therefore, they’ll be keen to sell someone else instead.

I may be wrong, but also thought Mattsen would count as another homegrown player? Therefore, another pure profit sale not happening this window.

Personally I don't see us paying 50 mil for anyone this window but who knows. Even 40/45 mil i'd be very surprised at. Will be interesting to see if we go for a loan option (Phillips) then revisit in the summer, another cheaper option from abroad or actually go all in and pay the money.

I wonder if we might end up going for someone like Hackney instead. Supposedly we are interested but early reports suggested he wouldn’t be available until summer however I just saw on the bbc that Boro might be willing to sell him this window if a big offer came in. You’d think comparatively speaking a big offer for Boro would still be a good bit bellow whatever Chelsea would want for Gallagher. He looks a fantastic talent who can play a few different position in CM. Also Adam Wharton is another player we have been linked to a lot. In general I do wonder if a younger HG or an 18 year old talent from abroad like Vermeeren might be a better move.

Paul O’Keefe and a couple other folks on twitter have mentioned going for a young CM option.

So the ones you mentioned would definitely fit. Not watched much of Wharton or Hackney in all honesty.

Personally would go for a more experienced player to replace Hojbjerg and a young homegrown (or young enough they will become one like Sarr) for deep cover to replace Skipp.
