Disagree actually. Davies has been excellent as a LCB - we'd be better off buying a LB to compete with Udogie.

.Yes Davies has filled in admirably at LCB but he is 30 and in summer will only have 1yr left on his deal, we need to future proof, sign Kelly.

I agree. Davies profiles perfectly for a 4th choice CB IMO: experienced, happy with his role as a squad player, can cover multiple positions, HG a massive bonus as well.
The three in front of him are 25, 22 and 21 years old so a first XI spot is locked down and out of reach for the foreseeable future. The three behind him in are kids but you’d hope that at least one of them will be able to step up in the next 12-18 months as Phillips and Dorrington (18) will have Championship experience under their belt by the end of the season (massive achievement to play CB at that level, at their age) and it seems that Vuskovic (16) who we paid £12m for will get a loan move to build his experience as well.
Better to keep a pathway open and have an older head and a solid pro who knows his role in and around the squad IMO, rather than gamble on an unknown quantity. Davies has earned the manager’s trust and demonstrated that he’s perfectly capable. I agree that we’d be better off looking at a specialist backup LB.

Still disagree, it’s good to have an experienced CB amongst the ranks (31 really isn’t that old for a CB) and I think we’ve already got a hell of a lot of future proofing with Phillips, Dorrington and Vuskovic.

Get him in and that's our defence sorted for next couple of years surely?! Maybe cover on RB depending on plan for Emerson. Talk was we wanted a no.8 this window so guessing that's the priority but maybe if we can't fill that position we'll go for Kelly and then address the no 8 in summer

I agree with you. I'd go for a LB instead and if that happens to be someone who can also cover RB or CB then fair enough.

He's been playing in Zagreb's youth team (like 99,9% of every other 16 year old in Europe).
Have been on the bench several times, but no minutes in the first team this season.
