Bissouma featured four times for Mali as they were knocked out of AFCON by Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals.

According to Mali boss Eric Chelle, "it’s not so serious, because someone born in West Africa is used to malaria, he could play".

Have to say, a statement like that doesn’t really encourage charitable donation does it.

I was at this game, Mali vs Ivory Coast, fucking what a game! And yes people get malaria all the time out here (I got a business here so visit often) it's like the flu but can be dangerous for young kids, elderly, pregnant and weak. When someone gets flu like symptom they say it's malaria, half the time it's bullshit. You have to get tested to confirm most most just go straight to the anti malaria meds without testing. Pretty sure Bisu would have been tested though so he probably did have it. Was defo wondering why he wasn't playing
