Need more from Romero, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulu and Son in the second half. All been liabilities or passengers so far.

I also don't think the chances we create are 'Ange' chances. We seem go be crossing the ball rather than cutting it back. With three centre backs up against Son I don't see how we expect to get much joy out of that.

Someone just needs to fucking shoot

I was just saying to my dad in that you look at Liverpool for instance and take say, Diaz and Jota (could have picked any of their 5 forwards really) and they're great team players still, but have that desire to get a shot off and actually try and score, they have that hunger for it. We lack that so much from our wide players.

we’re not moving the back quick enough , Romero v guilty of this . Kulu a waste as he just cuts back and floats a nothing ball into the box and then u don’t see him for 10 mins but main issue is we don’t commit players into the box , only ever 1 or 2 players to pick out . What happened to Madison , Udogie making runs into the box . May be harsh but I’ve not really enjoyed watching us play for a while . I’d move Johnson to the right and Werner left and get kulu off and just go at them .

every team we play against now switches to a back 5 and keeps 9 behind the ball because they know we can get hit on the counter and pretty much every team barring city has a hard time breaking down a low block
We have one best strikers of ball in maddison don't understand why we don't work him into shooting position from edge of box.

We only seem to wake up and realise what needs to be done when we're a goal down.
Before that it's side to side and trying to score the perfect goal. Very rarely shoot from outside the box and no one in the box to aim a cross at.

My optimism from the first few months is slowly eroding. Players need to step up and Ange needs to find a way to get us going again.

Expect us to be better second half. Still fancy us
This is ostensibly our best 11 so we're in a good position at HT against one of the top 4. Need to be much better 2nd half.

Right, at Celtic you had wide forwards running in diagonally at pace and cutting back for an easy sidefoot. City do this really well too.

I want Ange to go into that half time & shout at Bissouma face or just slap him twice - and tell him to stop playing casual and start playing faster.
IMO, if we are going to lose, its from these casualness and ball hogging and getting pressed & giving it away.

Time to step up for our lads - Play this as a must win game not another game

Our style of play leaves us open but we're not creating chances despite having more possession.

An interesting 2nd half coming up which could go either way.

Not sure Kulu works in this system, if the fullbacks are going to come inside then you need both wingers to hug the line. We have Kulu and Porro both coming inside, it's no wonder Maddison has no space when it's so congested in the middle.

I would really like to see Gio alongside Maddison as I think that could open up more attacking options for us but I get that it would probably be too risky from a defensive perspective.

Ether way you’re spot on. It isn’t surprising tho, I think it’s fairly easy to see we over rely on him to create opportunities. The obvious move is to shut him down and suffocate him which they are and it’s working, plus he isn’t in the best form at the moment which isn’t helping.
yeah you can see why Ange may want an upgrade on Bissouma in that role.

Bissouma is superb at playing under pressure and turning out of press but once he has done that he isn't very creative or a player who will then drive at a defender.

Because of that it allows the opposition to regroup.

Need a player who once he breaks that line he immediately splits that next line with a pass or drive

We have lots of players who can keep the ball moving but none who seem able to make a difference and create or take a chance.

Credit to Villa but we’ve been like this for a while.

Emery will certainly change his tactics for the second half so I expect a lot more attacking opportunities from them. hopefully it will leave them open for quick break aways from us.
