Thought the Newcastle one yesterday was even worse.
I thought they were both pens. They’ve not meant to but defenders have both kicked attackers who’ve got in between them and the ball whilst they’re about to kick it. Defenders need bit more awareness.

Reminds me of Lamela at Anfield years ago when Kane missed and then scored penalty.

Perhaps controversial but I think Liverpool should be swerving de Zerbi.

I reckon he’s a massive beneficiary of how well run Brighton are and is just a piece of the jigsaw there. He is clearly a good manager but that club has been on the up for years under numerous managers and none of them have gone on to do much anywhere else (Potter, Hughton, Poyet).

Only saying this as he seems to be refusing to commit himself to Brighton post 2026 in his pre match.

I wonder if the Brighton bubble will burst now too. Lost a lot of staff and decision makers. Reminds me of Southampton about 10 years ago although a different model. You just can’t keep selling your best players and moving forwards. Some threads on their forum even talking about selling/loaning Ferguson.

It looks like they're going for Amorim

Am I misremembering or does Amorim play fairly conservative football? I seem to recall that from discussions here about him during one of our interminable manager hunts.

Yeah, and he plays with a back 5 too.

Don't get me wrong, he looks like an exceptional young manager. But his style of football is certainly different to Klopps.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on with that squad.

Thanks. Doesn't seem like the best fit for Liverpool IMO. But maybe that's why I'm a billionaire professional fluffer and not Liverpool's sporting director.

Imagine Liverpool footballers in a busy supermarket. They'd be falling over everywhere.

Nice to see a ref actually giving a yellow for an early yellow challenge.

He blatantly pulled him back and made no attempt at the ball. But ofc on the touchline Jaws cannot believe his eyes. The sheer entitlement.

Really hard to know what to want with Liverpool games. Hate Klopp with a passion and would hate for him to get a title in his final season, but the thought of Arsenal winning it is much worse. Think I’m grudgingly hoping they give them another competitor. Obviously hope City win it.

Liverpool are at the top of the league but they look wide open most of the time . The defence is the main thing Arsenal have over the other 2.

Completely agree. Until Arsenal are out of it I cheer on City and Liverpool.

If Arsenal fall away, I go back to wanting Liverpool to lose with every fibre of my body.

City winning it means nothing to me either way.

How many fouls has Diaz made without a booking. Our players often get booked on their first foul. Teams really do get reffed differently in this league. Liverpool fans booing though thinking they’ve been hard done by

In general I agree but Mac Allister was booked first, correctly, with basically his first foul.

De Boer and ETH are not even comparable.

Ajax, have been shit since ETH left, 3rd last season and 6th so far this season, so it isn't as easy as you are making out.

ETH won the EFL cup and finished 3rd in his 1st season. If they beat Coventry, he will have got them to 3 finals in 2 years.

Yeah, they have been shit this season, but have had times they have had to play with Maguire and Evans at CB.

They were lucky to finish 3rd last season imo. Only 58 goals scored (same as Brentford last season) and their goal difference was much worse than liverpool, brighton, and newcastle. Just like this season, they relied on jammy results.

Most of that Ajax team he hasdwas subsequently sold. I'd say that's more likely the reason they've been poor.
