David Coote has been fine and probably gotten most of the decisions correct. But his face always looks like he's about to shit himself. I can't imagine him ever becoming on of the big PL refs because his body/facial language is terrible.

Liverpool are at the top of the league but they look wide open most of the time . The defence is the main thing Arsenal have over the other 2.

They look pretty open but they also cut through teams so quickly and directly. They don't need a long spell of possession to create a chance.

When their counter press fails they look open but overall the pressure they create is too much to deal with for most teams

Not sure what the commentator is on about. With Macallister and VVD if you call the foul then it has to be a yellow for stopping an attack.

Yeah, and he plays with a back 5 too.

Don't get me wrong, he looks like an exceptional young manager. But his style of football is certainly different to Klopps.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on with that squad.
I don't agree with this assumption that managers are limited to the formations they've played in other clubs. People said the same about Alonso, like he would try to replicate his Leverkusen formation at Liverpool when he doesn't have the main pieces that makes it successful - Frimpong and Grimaldo.

Agree he's more conservative than Klopp but there are some important similarities and they've become more attacking over time

I'm not convinced that fat Tony Stark would do well at a big club. He seems like an insufferable **** and probably benefitted from Brighton being well run.

Is the offside technology exact, or objective? That looked so close I don't see how it could be determined with a high degree of confidence

The human is still picking the points for the lines. There's a build in margin of error of 10cm I think. So in this case the system had him offside by more that 10 cm.

Shock, as all of Arsenal's "injured" players start

Death, taxes and Saka playing having previously withdrawn with ‘injury’.

I do wonder how we can become one of those clubs who manages to get players to withdraw from international duty with the slightest of twinges. Would be helpful. Bigger wages maybe?

City Arsenal lineups. Martinelli on the bench is good. Interesting that City is all central players. Basically no fullbacks or wide forwards/wingers

So if it's within 10 cm, does it default to an onside decision or whatever the on-field decision was?

The PL it defaults to onside. Most other leagues default to the on field decision. When it shows a green line that's the system saying it was within the margin of error.
