"Educated" carries a lot of weight though. They get those very tight ones correct a lot more than 50% of the time.
Yes but there is no way you can look in two places at once .Neville and Carra did a prog on refs at their training hq. As the ball is kicked if you look along the line and the player is a certain distance past the last defender they give it. Cannot remember the distance. They certainly cannot say for definite a lot of those decisions.

It's learning about the flash lag effect and training yourself on how quickly your brain is able to take the snapshot.

I hate the notion that bookings and sending offs shouldn't happen in fear of ruining a game. If it's a card offence then it should be given.
