  • "We're in it to win things", Postecoglu definitely has a promising career in stand-up if this football gig doesn't work out.
  • Ange has done a great job, let’s be honest.
It seems last summer was the first window in a while where they’ve actually made some logical signings.
VDV and Maddison were really good buys, and he’s getting the most from guys like Porto/Udogie/Bissouma ect by playing to their strengths.
Moving Son to CF to replace Kane is a bit of a masterstroke as well. I expect them to comfortably finish 4th, which is a great achievement.
  • Ange is no more special than Conte or Mourinho
  • All @SA Gunner needs to see is a couple of forward passes under a new manager and he's predicting a renaissance
  • You have to remember that for whatever reason the Spuds are graded on a curve. It's not really an impressive thing for an adult to know the alphabet but for a school aged Scouser, it's miraculous and that's basically the way the Spuds are appraised. They're such routine failures that people conjure successes for them that nobody with standards and a trophy case not riddled with cobwebs would even register as praiseworthy.

  • A housecat can be given a 1,000,000 year headstart & it'll never stand on equal footing with a lion
  • He has lucked out getting in VVD, perfect for his set up.
  • To me its the central midfielders that control Sp**s fate this yr. When Maddison, Sarr and Bissouma were on top form early, Sp**s were flying. When they are turning the ball over and unable to cover the defensive space, Sp**s look as vulnerable as ****.
  • The Sp**s match is gonna be the one I think, which decides if we live or die.
  • Some of the mental gymnastics from Sp**s fans this season have been quite astonishing to see. They claim that almost all their players are world class, but they're languishing in 5th? I guees Amge must be a sh*te manager then not to have this elite team at the top? Nope, apparently he's the 2nd coming of the messiah. So, they have an elite squad and an elite manager and they're in 5th miles off 1st? It doesn't add up!
  • They're not even really a club at this point. They just occupy that stadium between concerts
  • Now it's an attraction that Tottenham hasn't won anything in ages.
People can come from all over the world to marvel at this attraction. Some people go see the pyramids, some people go to see Tottenham's trophy cabinet.
  • Better managers failed at the challenge, Mate. You're not special.
  • He's probably the best manager they've had in a while, ahead of Conte, Potch and Jose for me. I say so because of his ability to lean them towards more incisive and consistent attacks.
His problem? His ability to balance it out defensively. It would be interesting to see how he sets Sp**s up in the coming seasons to maintain an attacking structure, but also be able to improve at the back.
  • Dynamic tottenham and their magical free-flowing style which has revolutionized and will forever change world football : 62 goals.
Boring boring Arsenal and their stupid Legoman’s brand of anti-football : 75 goals.
But I guess when you factor in that every single team rolls over for us while playing the game of their season as they rise to the challenge of mighty Sp**s, it all makes sense
  • Beyonce is a bigger Sp**s legend than Harry Kane for those 5 concerts she did that kept them afloat
  • I couldn't date a Sp**s fan to be honest, no matter what she looked like.
I genuinely couldn't talk to her in a nice way knowing she loves Son, I am too petty to overcome that
  • i dislike sp.rs. But i watch all their matches because of Ange's style of football. So to a football fan or neutral or even a rival, makes no difference i like his football

  •
We should have you @Riou and @Sapient Hawk infiltrate their forums

  • 4 is a conservative estimate.
If Postecoglu remains obstinate & allows his team to play naive football, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we hit them for 7.
  • Nah let's be real, we need to be at our best if we want to beat them at their ground. They're still a threat despite having their clown moments.
  • The people I feel sorry for are the random South Koreans that now support Sp**s because of Son, people who absolutely never knew what a Tottenham Hotspur even was before 2016.
The pain Son has forced these people to endure, is why I genuinely feel he should be convicted of being a war criminal.
Skipped national duty by a loop hole, can't even beat Qatar and Jordan and win a freakin Asian Cup for them and now forcing his country to support the most loser club football team of all time.
    Absolute SCUMBAG.

.. and after The Lord Mayor’s Show comes the dustcart.

Rabid and triumphalist - hoping they fall hard.

They don’t half spout a load of complete bollocks. Conveniently forgotten that Lego head had them finishing 8th, 8th, 5th (choking massively as we finished 4th), 2nd (choking massively again) in his first 4 seasons having spent an absolute fortune.
Ange hasn’t even completed his first full season, has watched us sell our best player and had to oversee a huge overhaul while encountering a ridiculous number of injuries (often to key players), and has us in 4th at present.

We’re far from the finished article, but miles ahead of where I expected us to be at this stage of Ange’s tenure.
It was and remains absolute bollocks that they "trusted in Arteta". They lost the first three games of 21/22, including being battered by City - here's that match thread. I know they're hotbeds for Takes, but it's pretty unanimous in their derision.

I'd love to know what Spurs forum is saying West Ham have a better front 4 than us.

I'd have Bowen from them and maybe Paqueta but that's it. Neither would be certain starters.
I think kudus, Bowen would probably start for us, son up front then maddison and Paqueta is either or, in form maddison is way ahead though.

Yeah exactly this. Plus they got lucky in that they bought a 17 year old from Brazil who know one knew who turned out to be quality, a they got an academy graduate through who is looking to be world class and bought an 18 year old cb who has turned out to be world class. That’s a lot of luck to get 3 key players like that.
but arteta is doing very well there’s no two ways about it, it’s taken time but he still needs to win something. Hopefully if he does he runs off to Barcelona.
But yeah we are a work in progress, just need to keep buying well but it’s clear when you resc a certain point you have to buy big to really take that next step and we’ll see if levy has that in him

Interested to know which Spurs fans have been claiming almost all of our players are world class, because I haven't seen anyone say it. Out of our current crop in my opinion only Son can currently be considered world class, but then we have the likes of Vicario, Udogie, Micky, Romero, Porro, Sarr and Bentancur who certainly have the potential to get there. I'd suggest this fella's talking absolute shite and no one has ever said that.

Also it's funny that 11 points after 31 games is considered "miles off" first too. I wonder how far Arsenal were off first 31 games in to Arteta's first full season. Ohh right, just the 29 points.

  • Seems Werner has found his place just like Havertz.
  • How are we so far behind this crap Spurs team...
  • It's by being even worse, happy to clear that up
  • Forest have better attackers than Spurs
  • Gut punch by Maddison there?
No action. I guess you can do that now.
  • Should have probably been a red for Maddison anyway. Clearly punches him despite how soft it was.
  • Well we all know what would happen if a United player had punched someone
  • Ange’s teams ALWAYS look for the drilled cutback across goal.
It’s brilliant to watch and is always efficient. Zero selfishness.
  • Great strike by van de Ven.
    2-1
  • Porro makes it 3-1.
  • Second half Spurs at it again
  • This Spurs v Forest ref is having a fecking mare and then some.

Villa Talk
  • Bet the lube is on standby for Spurs in sky studios, in the hope they retake 4th and can all rub one off over Ange's style of football.
  • Forest to be 1 up at HT. Spuds equalise just into 2nd half. Spuds score last minute winner from Son
  • Ergh
  • Murillo own goal
  • FFS
  • And so it begins
  • Some brain fart that
  • Werner has been useless in the Premier League, except when Villa will be disadvantaged.
  • Maddison with the 5 rolls there.
He’s a terrible cheat. Constantly looking for opposition players to be booked!
  • Get in 1-1 Chris Wood
  • Wood on fire
  • I knew Forest would lose but it's the piss poor job from Liverpool that's got me angry more.
Why? United 11 points behind with 21 to play for
Are you sonebody that build this shit United as some unstoppable machine. If so its your own fault
  • Media darling Udogie inept in the build-up.
  • Great Forest goal that
  • Get in
  • When did Timo Werner turn into a player?
  • **** sake wood hit the post from a yard out
  • You idiot, Wood!
  • This is fun, will it be like this until the end of the season do you think?
  • Forest need to make this spell count
  • That's a punch by Maddison - he could do with a fortnight off.
  • That's a red all day if Mcgin got one
  • Did Var look at that from madison, this ref is utter garbage
  • Madison is a thug
  • Seriously. Start booking these muppets
  • Maddison another rat of a player
  • It’s honestly unbelievable. What is the point of VAR? It’s the exact moment you intervene and get Maddison sent off. The level of outrage about McGinn getting red but crickets for Maddison punching someone.
  • It's so blatent, they are gagging for big Ange to move into 4th ain't they
  • FFS 2-1
  • Better hope 5th place is enough I guess now
  • You don't stop those shots
  • FFS 3-1 Porro
  • Sky are desperate for Ange to get 4th
  • GG. Two great strikes Atleast
  • Hojberg grabs the ref and Bentancur yells at him after being booked. Nothing.
  • Are we really calling what Maddison did a punch?
Get a grip people. I'd have sent Yates off before Maddison for being an absolute wetwipe
  • Goal difference is expanding now too.
Spurs will hopefully lose by a few at Anfield so could balance out again on that weekend
  • Corruption surely?! How is the ref this bad?
  • Who would the premier league want 4th more villa or spurs?
    Checks out
    BIg Ange.
You can see the money Tottenham are generating, it advantages the Prem to have them up there.
When you look at this as well, how do we compete with that? It's hardly a fair metric either given everything in London is more expensive, so their revenue is always going to have a % increase on the rest of the country.
  • The refs want spurs to finish top 4 because they like everyone else have got it in for Villa!
Anthony Taylor if you look closely actually slid in behind Carlos to score the 3rd goal yesterday!
    Give it a rest people.
  • Sky Sports News are taking the piss ain't they. Now Spurs have gone into top 4, they are talking about it and showing the points on the screen. Never saw this when we was top 4 at all??
  • Jamie Redknapp said after the game that he doesn’t think United will catch Spurs in fourth so it would take a massive collapse for them not to get champions league. He never even mentioned Villa.
  • Im really getting a bit bored of this big team bias, it is there no matter what anyone says.
  • I suppose we will hear all week now, how amazing big Ange is for getting Spurs top 4, an CL football. Could even still win the league ya know
  • What it should wake people up to is just how big those clubs have become compared to us
They talk about those 2 because they have a massive market share that we simply don't
  • dont mind Ange.
Think he has been a breath of fresh air
Really like his personality and how honest he is speaking
  • I remember going to Spurs away one time some years ago. We beat them and i remember as we walked back to our car, hearing their fans saying how envious they were of us and how great Gareth Barry was - at the time they were in danger of going down - but of course they didn't. . How things have changed
  • Fuck it, that's that then

How far back is that Villa fan going? 20 years? Of course things have changed since then. He’s gonna fall off his chair when he sees what’s happened to Man City in that time!
