in the premier league at home to Bournemouth, Everton, Wolves etc etc and the like, either the Ref or VAR 100% gives that Saka penalty.
As for the handball I really do hate how refs get to decide what rules they enforce, at what point in the game, and where on the pitch.
Who cares whether it's a really stupid mistake - it's a handball, and therefore a penalty.
You can put it in the same bracket as "too early for a yellow", or "sending him off would have ruined the game" or "anywhere else on the pitch that's a foul"

This is the problem, far too many people are fooled into thinking that is a penalty.
They see the contact and say for that reason it's a foul, they then say it's tough shit for the defender.
I think this heavily weights in favour of the attacker and why we no longer see great defending

Cote d'Ivoire has had a civil war in Serge's adult lifetime. Now obviously a civil war isn't quite the same as a country being attacked from the outside but he would've had an opportunity to fight for the side he feels is in the right if he had chosen to do so, and he hasn't. Very poor from him to make such a crass comment.

I hate the idea that any contact in the box is a penalty. In some situations defenders have no option but to stand off because the rules favour attackers so much.
We need VAR to start picking up on this and we need pundits to stop calling players clever and call them out for cheating.

Surprised Saka is getting this abuse and Bellingham isn't, he was diving all over the place last night. Even one to try to win a penalty that was just as bad as Sakas.
Also the tactic from all the real Madrid players who were pushing the city players everytime they released the ball.
Guess it's OK if you're at Madrid.

Didn’t see that so can’t comment but don’t think Bellingham usually does that whereas Saka and Arsenal both regularly fall over and cheat.

Didn't they make a thing about this a few years ago to try and remove this kind of cheating under the guise of attacking players 'initiating contact'.
Vardy was good at it but I always remember Pires used to run full speed into the area, clip his own ankles and get the pen every time as the 'dive' looked more natural.

Does anyone win anything in this day and age without cheating? It feels like a wider issue in society these days where shame just isn’t a thing anymore.
When I was young cheating, stealing, and thieving and all those nasty things were seen as weak, shameful and cowardly and now it’s ‘well, whatever gets you ahead’ in life and in football.
All the hope of this not coming into the ‘English game’ a decade or so ago has well and truly evaporated and some, as others have pointed out, are now championing it as a winner’s mentality. It’s not, it’s just cheating, however you’d like to frame it.

Yes plenty of teams and sportsmen and women win without cheating all the time.
There is more diving and playacting in our game because of the foreign influence, the latino countries have been experts at it for years, Argentina, Italy, Spain etc, its nothing new but good that it is being picked up on by media and fans that it isn't right.
There is a very fine balance between being 'clever' and just essentially cheating.

Its not only cheating but at that speed he could have injured the keeper by kicking out like that.

I understand the ref getting pelters, the fact he even said it wasn’t a pen on pitch after he’d blown to proceed again with play makes it a shocking decision.
Couldn’t VAR have got involved though?

Don't get me wrong, Arsenal are a decent team, with decent players, but what I noticed is they don't have that real game changer in the mould of a Bale, De Bruyne or Vinicius Junior.. and this is why deep into CL, they come up short..
